  1. Dawn, for your information I never designed this breed, I decided to acquire a dog because I liked the look and needed a dog that would be good with children, and this was the perfect choice in my opinion and it is a decision I'm glad I made. Who made the rule that a terrier had to be bred to work anyway?, surely we are allowed to keep pets. Fellman, before you call anybody names from behind the safety of your keyboard, at least learn to spell you hopeless twat. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> my dogs and their work do my talking for me so listen plummer wanna be feck off back to promoting
  2. no luck my self today nice to see some good results.
  3. this thread is a joke :11: :11: :11: :11:
  4. will keep an eye out around dublin. sorry to hear about this. seems to be getting popular.all around now.
  5. thats good going.was out tonight my self..pissed out all night got a lot of runs on new permission. got three and a big fox got one this morn with same dog. first season for both dogs was happy enough with both. improving each time. best of luck macker
  6. would not recomend it at all. for the sake of some kennel management. why would you bother getting an operation like that. have seen it take the spark out of a dog all together cant see the sence in it my self.
  7. very little wrong with the lurcher. have seen it a few times my self for a quick result give her a rat.even if she will not kill it and just give her a nip.she should improve. other than that just hunt her.she wont be too happy to see game get away from her time after time. a gundog trainer told me a few years ago. that making a dog hard mouthed is a very easy thing to do.its keeping them soft thats hard. its the same with lurchers. nothing to do with how game she is. just she is soft mouthed thats all. she is just a bit green still and will learn soon enough. best of luck macke
  8. was talking to a couple of lads at the show there this year. one chap had a weaton cross lurcher. from the the town. they where telling me about a bull cross doing well that was brought in from england. do you know these lads bock? seemed like a decent bunch of lads.
  9. nice dogs they look like they might be related?
  10. have had dogs over the years that would murder a fox by day. and you would think they would do the same at night, but just sit in behind it and nip at the tail, reminds me of terriers great over ground but in a dark place just wont do it. would not be too upset as some times when one gets away he might make sure next time he doesnt. my best lamp and hare dog did the same.just good at tumbling them. if the dog is doing everything else you want and well. you will just have to live with it. best of luck i think a few of us might have had problems like this before.
  11. seen the pups at two weeks. they where in great shape then and now. best of luck with him. seen both parents work.and could not fault them.
  12. will make twenty five easily . cracking looking pup. if you got it off trev.i have one off the last litter. otherwise it similar breeding . happy enough with mine so far.eighteen months now. likes his foxes and retreiving rabbits to hand. best of luck with him. macker
  13. had a couple of yapers my self .all except one stopped. to be honest it does not bother me to much as long as it stops. these type usually try their the best. i just take them out more. thats a good point about you pups chasing each other. the only dog that never stopped doing it did as a pup, always had a feeling that she was going to open up when on rabbits. it could be worse for your friend . as it sounds like the dog is trying. just it can be frustrating for friends with him as some times the rabbits in the field can head home when they hear the dogs . best of luck with that dog
  14. have been working along side weatons for years and have not seen one or crossbreed attack sheep.that was owned by people that brought them up with sheep. sheep killing dogs are the fault of their owners. have seen weatons work cover after fox very well. they are a terrier that most will natualy travel up to game and draw if he is well bred. a weaton is no match for a good bull.i dowt ever was. but as a hunting dog the weaton is in its own class.that it can pass on. there is an old man beside me that bred and judged trails when it was legal to do. the old weatons competed against the o
  15. this has worked well for me on a couple of dogs . well worth a go.
  16. its a tough one. depends what you want your lurcher to do. the bulls are stronger. dont hunt deer my self but most use the bulls for them. plenty of weatons where i live. the mother of my pup is a weaton cross. she is grat on rabbit and fox.the type of bitch that is great on the turns and will not change her stride as she hits cover. you must be care full about weatons and be sure about them working before you breed of them but. but there are still very good strains out there. my pup is a cross between both. very happy with him so far. dont know how to post pics on this site yet
  17. this is a tough post. i honestly think if all the bad dogs dissapeared tonight .and just bred from the good ones .next year or so there would be a hell of a lot more good ones out there.
  18. very nice looking lurcher there. what way is she bred. great when it all works out. just dug to my young terrier just there. just over an hour to get to him. after reading this post i think i might try for a lamp my self tonight. nothing like sitting down after you dog has done well. well done

    Mixi

handy to get your lurcher pup out to a mixi spot. no sport but good for confidence. the only good thing about this horrible disease
