    insight

insight is on itv1 tonight. this week its about pitbulls up in northern ireland. think they are putting as much pressure on the breed as they can these days.
  9. my nerves do be gone too when watching pups grow. at twelve weeks he is still very young. if you put him on a good dry puppy food it should straightin it self out. when they are growing quick the legs can go a bit wonky until they straighten out. at six months you should be happy again. not really keen on given pups eggs now and again they are great. a few on here might be able to give you some more advice. all the best macker
  10. a few of us making the trip over from dublin maybe for the weekend. heard its well worth a visit.
  11. hello nell. some good advice from molly there. as a long shot it could also be internal. a good worm dose might help even if the dog has been done already. and also which food are you using. as some dogs can not take the high protien in some of the foods available. have a mate that had the same problem and it came every summer. he had the same problem with the dogs mother. after a few visits to vet. the vet told him to try a food called vet plan.lower in protien and alergeys reactions. it worked even tough my friend tought it would not. and has never come back. hope you sort it out
  12. just a quick question would be very thankfull. if some of you out there could give me info on breeders of collie bred lurchers or cattle bred lurchers. with a good reputation. other than the most popular one in sutton colefield. all the best macker

    HARDMEN

this is a good topic. i like to do a fair bit of digging my self. nearly all the decent chaps i have met through hunting are digging men. but i will always enjoy rabbits and ratting . it got me interested in hunting and i have never got bored of it. its funny a friend rang me on monday asking me what to do.he had a very tidy bull cross bitch in heat and asked me that he was looking for pups for allround work. i told him to breed it off a chaps deerhound cross i knew. i got a couple of calls saying i was mad for saying that off my digging mates saying what did i say that for. even
  14. good advice there also heard a womans hair curler can get good results too
  15. just noticed your post socks that bottom dog is the spit of my old dog. a shame i never had a pic of him.
  16. have seen quite a few tall dogs take small game. my best lamping dog was 28 inch deerhound cross more of a strain and mostly fawn in colour in the litters. he was as tight as a wippet who would burst up to hare of rabbit and just tuck in behind and wait for it to make a mistake. the dogs father came from philp king and was a 30 inch dog and could take over thirty rabbits and was a legend with a hare. when i first seen him as a kid i tought it was a donkey and could not catch a cold. after seing him work i had to beg the chap for a pup. have to say i love to see a big dog do a li
  17. have the bar system myself. looks the job. but it is possible for two dogs two fight through the bars as their legs will slip through. as burnie said the half sheeting dividers would be good
  18. not sure where to send them. some of the lads on might be better. was in the same position as you at the start of the season and ended up with three working. have not got a clue about electronics. but they are not too comlpicated some times when there is no sound at all from them its just one of the two wires attached to the battery. the one that goes towards the speaker can be bad . if the wheel is dodgy try changing it with another one. otherwise just heat up anything that looks like a bad connection with a solder iron.or give it a new solder. also look at the lines on t
  19. had dogs from philips line not breed by him but the parents where. they where some dogs and the pup i kept was just as good. they where mostly deerhound with a dash of irish terrier. the irish terrier was of better quality as it is found now. from lamping rabbits taking hare and killing and retrieving fox. these where true alrounders pity he does not keep them any more. nice to see some other people have worked this strain too.
  20. i like a keen eye in a pup. and if you have a bit of time on your hands to pick out a pup thats just loving life and full of charracter that will suit me.
  21. looks a nice dog. bull cross is it?
