  6. not getting into this one as i agree both sides in ways have bought good fox dogs and seen some good deer dogs for sale. but one thing i have not seen for sale is a first class rabbit dog. and only ever seen three dogs of a certain quality. not easy to get a good dog for any quarry but a good dog to take rabbits on any land flat on hills with out missing much is as rare as hens teeth. i think every thing seems easy until we start hunting it. will be honest enough to say i dont know much about hunting deer. some of my friends take it serious and it seems to be the biggest they can g

  8. i would leave the plummer books on the shelve. good info but more like novel lurchers and long dogs for me for an author that is not kennel blind and one i will always have close by. plenty of other authors as mentioned above that have written very good books from experience in the field . i just got mislead from reading plummer crap. they are all fiction.

  14. the odd yap when the dog is turning can be some times caused when the dog is just too fresh if it was me i would leave him off for a few weeks. some times works especialy if he is sore when turnig. if that does not work hunt the feck out of the dog and try take the freshness out of him. used to have a dog that was like this and i used to to give him a couple of very long slips at the start until he settled down. although he had to be lamped twice a week to keep the yapping away so to speak. hope this might help you a bit. hard to give a reply for us when we havent seen the dog run.
  15. will ask around for you hope your mate gets them back. all the best macker

  17. sorry lads but i have to say keep well clear of that ivomac crap. i have seen idiots give slightly too much and the result was a 28 inch deerhound drop to the ground i never used it and wont . i know a couple of lads that have sworn by it over the years and gave the right dose only too often and it ruined their lurchers one of them they could not even breed from and served many bitches with no luck.it is only a last resort in my eyes all the best macker
