  1. hello bird with the weaton cross getting popular over in england now there should be some good ones to try and they can be top class . have a couple of dogs with deerhound and either weaton in their blood or old type irish terrier in them. you will get good and bad but i have seen some top class deerhounds over the years with a dash of weaton in them to put some fire and just terrier mentality in them hope this is some help. macker

  4. alot of the shows like that now even worse in england when i was over there. but living in south of ire i know a few plenty of die hard hunters up north who will travel anywhere to hunt their dogs. just have to take the good with the bad. i will say the terrier lads that do well up there can be a click some times with no sign of work at all. sickens me to be honest macker

  9. with all these dogs going missing i think its more than just the odd person keeping their mouth shut about as i think it can be loose lips while out in pub. or directly teeling thiefs where they are looks like the only people doing well out of this recession are thieving scum.
  10. good stuff paddy glad to see your dogs working well for you. macker

  19. to me a pure saluki is like a silent beagle. but when put into a decent lurcher both sides benifet. as for the fen hares they would not be there if they where not the strongest .on big open flat land like that. some fen dogs suffer over in ire with the gates and hedges here but as mucky and others says the best of best will do well anywhere. the truth is to me that if a dog is silpped on a fen hare that dog has not got either alot of deerhound or saluki in it is will at some stage bust its insides or hearth trying to stay on when its well beat.or pull up. with smaller fields the ha
  20. looks a nice dog fireman have seen some bad ones over here great in cover but. seen one pure plummer bithch which you could drop into any hole and dig to her.sadly got killed working in the end. but what a bitch she was. good to see some are still doing their job well. macker
  21. only time will tell on this one whitser. had a russell before got him on trial and dug a few with him but some times a fox bolted and after a long course lurcher killed it was delighted as well as farmer only to find i had to dig to terrier and nothing there.tought the same as smasher saying there was another in the hole.which i think is right as some times our terriers know more than we do of whats in hole. sadly for this one he was just messing about where the fox was lying up last. also i think your terrier is on the big side for hound work and find you need a smaller than avera
