  1. Gun safes are always good even if it is to store a sub 12. I bought one off eBay and it claimed to hold 3 scoped rifles. It didn't as PCP's tend to be bigger in depth than normal rifles. You can get some cracking deals on eBay but make sure your rifle will fit in it. If your going for an FAC then just get a 6 gun cabinet and have them all locked away. They usually come with an internal safe. Make sure they are police approved and in line with the home office approved security rating I think it's bs7994 or something. If you've got all weapons locked away when the FEO comes round then you'll p
  2. Falklands is a nice place mate did a couple of tours down there. It's Barron and only a couple of trees on the island. The weather is erratic to say the least down there and be prepared to run out of supplies as I believe a container ship only resupplies the island every couple of months. The globe is the only decent pub down there mate. The raf only fly in a couple of times a week and a flight from chile on Saturday mornings. You get bags of milk not bottles. Pack plenty of thermals for down there as its freezing and I mean freezing. The wind chill factor bring the temperature down eve
  3. Cheers for the offer Rez, wife's just told me she's bought me a sidewinder for Christmas!! Asked her if she wanted to pay for the 100 as well but that was a no.
  4. Gents after some advice with regards these scopes. I'm in the middle of getting a hw100t but the package deals come with hawked eclipse scopes, I've got an eclipse on my R10 but I quite fancy a different reticle. I do like the mamba reticle any advice on whether they are any good or an alternative scope would be appreciated Thanks Delboy
  5. Lol In one piece just about. I remember a lecture when I was I the forces about comparable velocity damage. It basically equated size of objects to the ammunition that hits into it. Some gory pictures shown of how different rounds hit into the body/object. Entry wound is quite neat but the exit wounds are a dam sight bigger. The rounds can cause a vacuum type effect and sucks bits out. The worst I saw was a .50 cal exit wound there wasn't much left of the guys back!
  6. Dave, my mate,s got one, there ok but me and my mate couldn't tell the difference between that one and the one I paid a tenner for. The one I got isn't a tripod it's a single telescopic stick with a spike at the bottom which you cover when not in use. Real good for tree shots on woodies etc.
  7. Welcome GM. Nice to see another Oxfordshire lad on here
  8. Agree with you Dave was going to do some shooting this weekend but the rain and the gale blustering outside has kept me firmly inside. Few jars it is for me as well.
  9. Hey guys and gals joined a few days ago been shooting air rifles for 6 months or so. I've bought an r10 supercarbine its good and thanks to some good advice I'm purchasing a .177 HW 100 T.
  10. I think that what ever calibre you hit them with it's going to kill them. If it's a head shot it's game over almost instantly but if it's a boiler room shot it may die within 30 seconds. 177/22 on a small animal is like a human being hit with an artillery shell.!!!
  11. What's the best one to link in with the viper nitesite
  12. I hit a woody at 25 yards in the boiler room , massive ploom of feathers come off it, straight into flight then drop like a bomb 30 yards away. It's just the natural reaction animals have to being shot, they fly bunnies hop then kick unless they're at complete rest.
  13. Gents thanks for the advice I'm going to get the 100 in 177. See how I get on with it. On another note I'm looking and At the RAW hm1000. They look just like a rapid and I've heard good things about them and the RAW is just a rebrand of theoben. Anyone have any experience with them. Thanks in advance Del
  14. Some advice please from the 100 club. I'm thinking about getting one. I've got an R10 in .22 which is spot on but some friends have said for rabbiting, pigeons I could quite easily do it with a .177 as they generally are more accurate and you can get good clean kills out to 60 yards. Your thoughts would be appreciated on the 100 in 177/22 variety. Lastly someone has said an S410/510 shouldn't be discounted in my final decision. Thanks in advance Delboy
  15. Nice letter think I will print some of them off. Only got the in laws place for shooting ATM but it's a large fishery in oxford So plenty of woodies rats etc. But scarce on rabbits but a few pop up
  16. I've tried several brands and found the ultra mags the best in R10. Remingtons were good as well. AA field didn't work well in mine but they are very good in my mates. I like to think of guns like women somethings work better in some than others
  17. Crossman premier ultra magnums are decent out of my R10. They hit hard and very accurate. Dispatched dozens of bunnies with them
  18. Hello all new to this site, joining in the Oxford area and just started shooting air rifles. Previous experience shooting in the military for several years
