  3. You can probably find a nitesite viper on eBay for about it 300-350 mate they are decent and no need to re zero your rifle with it.
  4. Think they've made pre full production and it might be available now according to their website. They look quite nice but I haven't seen any reviews on performance as yet. Almost look as good as the R10 aesthetically. May have to tap up the wife for one next year for my birthday. Hopefully someone will put up a review on here so we can get some pros and cons.

  6. Yes it is, you clearly do not know what you are talking about sir, a caution counts as a conviction, and must be put down on application or renewal, as must even an absolute discharge, but hey what do I know, I have only had shotguns and section one firearms for a combined 32 years You can only be convicted by magistrates or a jury it's based on common law of the land and a safe guard in english law. I've dished out plenty of cautions when I was a custody Sergeant and being a qualified legal exec I think I know a bit about law and practice, charging standards, counting rules. One of the bi
  7. Of course cautions stay on your PNC record because to get a caution you've been in custody and had your DNA and fingerprints taken. It's known as recordable offences but they are only valid for two years and then it's archived and you would be eligible for another caution if the custody sergeant deems it appropriate. If you've been in trouble as a kid that can be put down to being a youth but if you've got a history of dishonesty/violence then it can be used as evidence of u trustworthiness. Likewise they ask for driving convictions if you've constantly got 9 points on your licence etc then
  8. a caution most certainly isn't a conviction it's an admission of guilt. A conviction can only been made by a court by magistrates or found guilty by jury and sentenced at crown court. Put everything down on the form they will weed out what they want on the form and run a check on you.
  9. Basic DBS checks will only show current convictions etc. A caution is not a conviction and is spent after two years. An enhanced DBS check will show everything on it and is designed for people who work with children vulnerable people or need an enhanced level of security for their job. Check the statutes of limitations on offences this will tell you if it needs to be declared. Just put on it that you had convictions xxx long ago they will automatically check the police national computer anyway and when they grant you a FAC you'll have a PNC record generated as a matter of course so the
  10. A caution is a slap on the wrist if you had a solicitor he would have been all over it as a breach of process. I'm taking it as you had a domestic incident and would hazard a guess that you did some shouting at someone which according to the law is a common assault and f you out someone in fear of violence hence you were cautioned. As you were only cautioned this will be archived after two years. Anything under three years in jail or sentencing etc you have to wait 3 years before re-applying. Anything over 3 years and it's a life time ban. You shouldn't have a problem with re-applying for
  11. Put the rest of the tin on targets and tighten up that group at 20 they should be stacked on each other. That's a group may be found at 45 yards. Still good enough to whack bunnies though
  12. Try some pellet samples I believe that you can get some on eBay to find some that suit your barrel mate. Crosman ultra mags and BIsley work decent. Some of the guys on here will be able to shed some more light on it. I've got the 177 100 and it likes AA diablos.
  13. As long as you have permission to shoot on land and you know your preferred target is in season then there isn't a problem and the law is black and white in regards to hunting. I believe that there has been a case that hit the headlines where a man was prosecuted for fouling a squirrel went out and it was suffering he came back and dispatched it with no less than five pellets. In this instance if he had shot and killed it outright then there would be no case to answer. Trespass is a civil offence and private prosecution is an option for people but the chance of,little compensation for
  14. Phil as long as you have a valid reason for a FAC you can obtain one. Usually it's good to invite the FEO to your permission and show him the quarry you'll be shooting. Show him your security measure for shot gun and the cabinet should be in accordance with the home office BS standard for securing firearms Personally I'd apply for a rim fire for rabbits and also an FAC air rifle for indoor work in barns buildings etc where a sub 12 may not work and the rim fire to powerful. You'll also need two referees of good standing to vouch for you. It will stand you in good stead having a SGC. Sho
  15. Just as a an after thought instead of looking for s scope with more mil dogs on it just re zero your rifle to 50 metres should be able to use your four mil dots then and if not re zero it to 60 metres.
  16. Think that episode of VHhis imp was running at 10.5fpe and at his 44 metre it was doing about 6fpe. I think it also says that you need 3.5 fpe to kill a rabbit. If you double the distance and halve the data you'd hit it with 3fpe which wouldn't kill a rabbit. I'm quite comfortable taking shots at 45-55 metres but I've been shooting for years in civvy street and military. I like stalking up on prey the most to about 40 metres then take the shot, no point in wasting lead or injuring target.
  17. Keep plugging away at them they will soon go elsewhere. Had a walk round the fishery earlier and had a couple some pigeons, seagull and a few crows.
  18. Ive had about 10 magpies this week alone mate. Normally only get about 1 a week. Agree there's loads of them about. Squirrels have been out in abundance as well.
  19. Can I just use any dvr camera then?. Watched a few VHTV videos on YouTube with some camcorders hooked up but I don't know what brand or linking kits they use.
  20. Gents I've got one of these and after some advice on what camcorders best to hook up to it to record to and also so my brother in law to watch the action as I'm shooting. Thanks in advance Delboy
  21. Sending them walking into a mine field was a popular past time for some people until they were classed as protected. Think an army lad got prosecuted for it and got a massive fine and 28 days inside a few years back
  22. You can always pop a couple into a mag and fire it. Works a treat on my R10.
  23. To right they do although last time I was down there berthas beach didn't have a single penguin on it. Penguin tipping used to be good fun.
  24. Multi shot is a lot easier but if you rattle off rounds you can run the risk of dry firing and if you foul an animal you've got to reload it to dispatch an animal which can take longer than a single shot. Likewise if you've fired and missed the creature and its unsure of the danger then it takes some time to reload instead of cock and get back on the shot. It's going to come down to what you want out of the rifle and what your personal preference/comfortable with.
