  1. God forbid. A good example of a minister who knows fcuk all about the revenue brought in by this sector. It was a few years ago that angling in fresh water was under close scrutiny as being unacceptable in this day and age until they found out that it was a massive tax earner for the government. There really are some total wankers in position of power. Phil
  2. I nearly bought the Maverick but thought it was a cheaper version of the Impact however I was told by a dealer who works closely with FX guns that the Maverick was in fact based on a Wildcat but with obvious differences and the launch product for the twin regs. I don't think it has been the success in the uk market that FX expected, add a bit more dosh and get the Impact. Phil
  3. Don't let it put you off as they are seriously good guns, I have had 7 in total over about 7 years and rate them very highly. Phil
  4. Job done, went into the rfd and sorted a part ex so the Browning sits nicely in my cabinet................well not quite nicely because it's too bloody long for my cabinet so it is in two halves. it will go in my wife's cabinet ( my second cabinet but she likes to call it hers with her lonely shotgun in ) which is tucked away behind all her bloody sewing / knitting/ clothes etc etc etc so pretty safe but a pain in the rear to get to so bugger it, two halves is fine ? A short session on the pigeon the other evening, to say I was pleased with how it handles would be an understatement. I wil
  5. I had the same gun, heavy and very twangy but after I had it tuned, it was like a laser, super gun but with the scope it was just too bloody heavy so I moved it on. If I had been a range shooter, I would have kept it but after taking it out on some of my perms it was a none starter and with the nv fitted, just too bulky but a nice gun to use once tuned. I would have kept the Webley. Phil
  6. The reg was sorted very quickly but there is some sort of mushroom shaped piston , a bit of plastic thats all but we have been waiting for that. Had I known there was going to be so much hassle getting hold of this part, perhaps we would have gone s different direction. Perhaps I am being unfair to sportsman but I doubt it but nevertheless Christmas got in the way and it was said that FX didn't have the parts for my Mk1 which is a bit of a worry ongoing Mitch because to invest £500 into a gun that I may not be able to get parts for is a concern as the old addage about only the pension to affor
  7. Very true Mitch, just not sure I want to go that route or can afford to as I am just in the process of buying a Browning semi auto shotty tomorrow. At the moment I am a long way off the direction I will go, just looking forward to getting the Impact back, it's been a long time trying to get one single part for the reg, in fact over three fcuking months, another splendid performance from bloody Sportsman.......... ? Phil
  8. Ah ok Mitch, it seemed that .22 were the favoured cal but remember my Impact is the original 'smooth twist' barrel which really doesn't like slugs at all and do I want to spend £450 on a new barrel/liner for a five year old gun. I have not gone off .25 Mitch, just not sure what the fcuk to do when my Impact comes back. Phil
  9. Less than half the price Jimmy and if it does what you want, then you are quids in matey. Have you actually seen one in the flesh so to speak. It sounds good with the barrel / probe change as well. Phil
  10. Only around 50mins from me so no issue.
  11. I by far prefer the Italian o/u guns compared to Browning / Miroku but that is a matter of taste and everyone likes different things but after owning a number of Miroku and Brownings, I just prefer the handling of Perazzi / beretta / Caesar Guerini but totally conceed with this semi auto, it's a cracker. Phil
  12. Yes quite right, this is not the same recoil operated system of the original A5 where the barrel used to move backwatds to operate the action. This uses what Browning call a 'Kinetic Recoil' system which doesn't have that barrel movement and is much cleaner in operation. The bolt assembly is very very similar to the Benelli guns, I am told. Anything else, I have to learn about..........? Phil
  13. Ah, not on your doorstep then, I expected you to say someone in Leeds/Wakefied for some reason. I used City a few times when I had my Rapid fac guns which was his speciality, very helpful chap. Phil
  14. I have had my KOFS 28g shotgun for about 18 months and despite it being a joy to walk around with BUT it just is not floating my boat so keep hold of that thought. I was in the rfd last Tuesday to zero one of my air rifles on their in house 25mt range, my turn to make the coffees for everyone and returning into the main shop, I saw this guy who was wanting to sell his semi auto shotgun, it didn't really interest me and I just carrried on drinking my coffee BUT then I noticed this gun had a ceracote barrel (like the look of that), interest started to be raised......... When the dea
  15. I use a Nitesight which work well on the gun but stupid money but there is another gun mounted unit which is about £125ish, my pal has a couple of these and really rates them. The LE-032 is the one my pal has. night vision range finder | eBay WWW.EBAY.CO.UK Find great deals on eBay for night vision range finder. Shop with confidence. Phil
  16. Who are you dealing with for RTI guns in your area. Phil
  17. 'I wouldn't have an FX given'........................Don't worry Kalibrgun, I have no intention of ever giving you an FX. ? I have had 5 FX guns and found them ALL to be both accurate and great to use. Never seen a Prophet in any shop near me, I can't say they offer great value as they are in the same price bracket as the Wildcat, Impact and Crown but without the looks. I assume they are better than the Priest as they were shite which is why a couple of shops near me stopped selling RTI as most were sent back. We all like different things but I by far prefer the FX every day of th
  18. I would suggest Phil Crampton at Ratworks, based in Leicester area or John Bowkett based in Birmingham. Home WWW.THERATWORKS.CO.UK Phil
  19. It would be wrong to say there were faults but both my pal and myself had to send ours back with power issues. Mine had quite a few faults and I would not accept it back so the rfd sold it on after sorting the problems at Hull Cartridge but my pal kept his afer correcting the fault and he still has it now. There have been a number of power issues but not every rifle, there seems to be some batches that have some faults and not others. The laminate version was my third 110k and the only one to have faults. Just watch out for power problems, if you have a chrono, just keep doing a few che
  20. HW rifles in fac are not very well rated so a no go Jason, sub 12 are great though and I am covered in sub 12 with the P35 which is spot on despite what some people think. Phil
  21. As one or two of you know, I have been toying with getting a new Crown .22 fac and in the process selling my Impact .25 fac. The original idea was to have my Wildcat .22 fac compact, as my pellet gun with certain applications and the Crown as my slug gun but when I was in the shop earlier in the week, my pal was doing some pellet tests in his Crown .22 fac and whilst he has had it for a month or two, I had not got round to shooting it. I was quite taken a back by the length of the barrel with the mod fitted, god only knows what a 700mm barrel would be like as this was a 500mm barrel and
  22. To be honest I don't know why the shop didn't fill it before you left the shop so they would know if there was an issue, never come across a shop that didn't test fill a new gun. Phil
  23. Try putting this in the sales section. Phil
  24. Far better than that bloody awful Kral thing. I took one into the range today as a matter of interest to set the scope up for a chap in the shop, 25mt perfect pellet on pellet, made me miss my old .177 compact version. Phil
