I enjoy the day normally and it is always interesting to see what new stuff is around, not just guns but there is usually something to take my interest and the contents of my megre wallet. ? Although having said that I went to a different rfd yesterday after clay shooting and treated myself to some new electronic ear muffs AND I have my eye firmly set on an old Perrazzi trap gun which I am just sowing seeds with my dearly beloved....................? Lead Ban Disaster - time to get busy.
philpot replied to JakeFury's topic in General Airgun Discussion
I was told by an RFD I went into today that some American on youtube has carried out tests on pellets, live ammo and shotgun using all the different metals available, only one metal perfromed as well as lead for grouping and in the case of shotguns, pattern and that is GOLD. Needless to say this was only for testing but it does make you think what an uphill struggle this is likely to be. Phil -

Kead fishing weights is banned from many waters now and they are seriously hard to buy in this country. My pal goes to France where there is no lead bal so he buys a load every time he goes. -

Not a straight forward situation for airguns DB as you have pointed out. -

I agree with Simon and I seriously believe that there is not enough profit in pellets to spend on research and development to produce an ACCURATE, RELIABLE pellet at a PRICE that will satisfy the airgun hunter. You also have to consider how many countries will not be having a lead ban so as a business decision, would I bother investing many thousands of £ / $ or whatever to produce a pellet to satisfy the UK and EU when there may be a huge market in other countries and once again the UK is left behind. Just my opinion and only time will tell but when you have a group such as basc so calle -
Delighted to see you back on here Simon, I was very close to calling in on you a couple of weeks ago as I came up through New Yorks straight but time was against me. Welcome home mate. Phil

I think it is an M20 thread Jimmy as it fitted my Impact shroud. Phil

That's weird Mitch, we had this problem some months ago with your pm box but thanks Jimmy. So I will give the pm a miss for now, I am happy to keep the liner Mitch as you never know it may be useful one day but like you it made no difference to slug performance so just let me know if you want it back in which case I need your address or bank details and I will pay you. One of our members, Pianoman (Simon) had a new Huntsman, utter trash and you have to bear in mind Simon is a superb springer shot so a pcp is childs play to him but after returning it to gaystate, it was no better and it sat in the cabinet for a few years until he decided to take it to Ratworks and Phil Crampton worked his magic to make this gun what it should have been from the factory but why the hell should he have to spend a few hundred quid to sort a gun from new. There is a stunning Huntsman in my rfd at the moment and to be honest, I would love it as it feels superb in the shoulder

Come on Mitch have you fallen out with me, I want to send some dosh..............................talk to me, pretty please. Phil

My buddy had one in fact he may still have it, anyway, he found JSB Exact RS in .22 worked very well and to be honest so did AA Fields for that matter. I borrowed it for a couple of days and those pellets certainly stopped the feral pigeon and magpies in their tracks. I was going to buy one but disliked the left hand cocking, good little gun as far as I found. Phil

Just checked Jimmy and I don't have a sample of the Beast pellets mate, sorry. Phil

Hi Mitch, I sent you a PM but no response mate, is your inbox not working again. Phil

I am sending you the A&M mod Jimmy and I think I may have a sample of these, if so, I will include them for you. Phil

Jason, you need to think about what you like as your taste is going downhill very fast...........................................don't be a dip stick Jason, they are utter shite which is why many dealers will not handle them. You will learn my boy, you will learn. Phil

Had I gone to the Northern Shooting show today, I was heading for BASC to see what the fcuk they are doing and after reading the statement from them in my email today, I am so pleased I dropped out of my membership as they do fcuk all for the shooting man. How the hell can this so called piss poor organisation support the ban when there is no alternative for air gun and rifle, to say I am angry is an understatement, BASC doesn't deserve our money, they certainly will never get another penney from me but that won't bother them after all they are clearly not bothered about their membership. -
A 15 year old post......................................WTF

My Mk3 .22 fac has the FX reg gauge already fitted and that sits at 100 bar, 34fpe. Why not just get an FX gauge or are you not too keen on them. Phil

Nice little gun for the money. Phil

Interestingly I read a report that stated the 110 was now the best selling pcp in the HW stable but whatever I really like them both, must see about getting another, Oh yes and of course it's the Northern Shooting Show this weekend..................................? Phil

Yes I agree the sales sections are good and I often go on to look. Phil

I know various people have had issues with other forums but in all honesty, I have never had any issues with them, perhaps I have been lucky, who knows but while I do visit AGF, this is my forum having met some really good people who I now regard as friends and will remain that way.......................................except Mitch of course. ???
