  1. Here are some results I did a few weeks ago in the garden, nothing more than something to do one day and although the cards say 15yds, it was 15mt which is not much difference but there you go. I only have a cottage garden and have not tried this at any real distances because of wind conditions on the days I have been free. There is a new range in Doncaster which is at 45mt so I will make a phone call to establish if I can do some more testing there. Also heard that North Cotes Butts in Lincolnshire has a large indoor range and again will look into that for testing pellets. Hw100 KT, .177
  2. I had a look at one of these last week whilst in Suffolk, very nice indeed. I want a .22, not selling the HW100 .177 though and have looked at a number of guns but to be honest I have simply removed guns from my wish list as time goes by and my cash is tied up in a camper van conversion that is almost finished, once sold, I will splash the cash. I do like the Ultra and have it tuned by Airtech but confess I am not so keen on bolt action compared to side lever. The Rapid and Wildcat are still in the frame as well. I am drifting on your post, sorry...................nice gun and I hope y
  3. I bought a couple of tins to try in the HW100 a while ago but with the high winds here, have not done much with them. We have been at High Lodge in Suffolk for the week doing some clay shooting and air rifle shooting so it seemed a good chance to try the FAP pellets at different distances. In the tinyest bit of breeze and I do mean tiny, they were all over the place compared to H&N FTT, Bisley Mags and JSB Exacts. Bit of a surprise. Phil
  4. Right Chris so you have sold the Brocock and your beloved R10 which leaves you with the Ultra but I am assuming there is another to fill in the gap in your cabinet. What are you going for. Phil
  5. And very nice too. Is your wife happy that you have stolen all her spoons Phil
  6. That is just rubbing it in Mac.......shame on you......lucky barsteward Phil
  7. I used to do quite a bit of business in the US and visited a number of times. Their outlook on guns is just very different to ours coupled with the fact that they have places to use these very large ft/lb guns and love something that is pushing the boundary of a weapon type. I once went to the CEO of a company who took me to his home to show me his guns, it was like walking into a gun shop and he had a 100mt indoor range in the garden........a different league altogether. Phil
  8. My pal is looking for a 410 carbine in .22 and is off to a couple of RFD's today and Monday but please let me know by PM if you decide to sell yours and I will put you in touch if he has not already bought one. Phil
  9. Now that is a serious length garden Mitch, I have to make do with my cottage garden at 15mt although I do have fields over my garden wall and when the horses are elsewhere it is not so bad. There is a new indoor range at Doncaster which is open until 10pm and has a 45mt range which is not too far for you. https://www.(!64.56:886/doncasterairgunrange/?fref=ts Phil
  10. I stand to be corrected but I was told that the A&M cylinder does not have a valve in unlike the HW cylinder which does have a valve so retaining the air when removed. Sounds like my info was possibly wrong. Phil Just looked at A&M site and it looks like you and Mitch are right so sorry for wrong info to the op. Here is their actual wording,' the cylinder cannot be removed from the gun whilst FULL', so I assume as you say David, it can be removed when lower pressure is left in the cylinder. http://www.amcustomgunsmiths.com/cylinders.html
  11. I bought a spare air cylinder for my HW100 from another forum but be aware that you cannot change an A & M cylinder as it has no valve unlike the HW factory cylinder which can be removed whilst still holding air. I think Uttings do a 0.5lt cylinder for field top up's, around the size of a small flask but they are about £120 with whip/gauge so nearly as much as a 3lt unit. Hope that helps. Phil
  12. Shooting someone elses rifle is not my thing. I think I would rather opt for buying a sub 12Ft/Lbs so I could keep using my one scoop and practice with it over here. Welcome aboard I think this would be your best option, to have a sub 12ft/lb here is much much easier and still a good hunting tool, just ask the guys on here. Phil
  13. ' Sounds like user error with these chrono's getting damaged to me.' You have got it in one, if the unit is aligned, you cannot damage the chrono. Phil
  14. Anyone who shoots one simply has not lined the barrel to the unit correctly, if you are worried, get the yellow set up tool. Phil
  15. I stand to be corrected but I think the A & M cylinder is 400grm lighter that the standard cylinder. To be honest I was going to get one but don't find the gauge so easy to read (old eyes) so I picked up a spare standard cylinder in order that I COULD change cylinders if needed giving me twice the shot count. I only shoot in a rested position, either bipod or trigger grip tripod so not an issue but I would think the A & M unit will benefit those shooting free standing. Phil
  16. I have the Combro which works fine. Phil
  17. A number of the guys from Airgun forum tried it out at the Shooting Show last week. The feed back was very good. I cannot see Weihrauch putting it's name to a poor product. Phil
  18. Thought you had switched Mark to FAP pellets. Phil
  19. looks very feminine, almost gay !Only my opinion,a bit like the gun equivalent of a fiat 500,in duck egg blue! When is your appointment at specsavers.................... Only joking Phil
  20. I have heard so many people who have had Carl do work for them and not a single negative comment from any of them, to the contrary they all say what a cracking job he has done with the rifles being spot on. Phil
  21. Mark, some people like plain or tactical stocks as they take the rough and tumble but I have no intention of knocking it around and to me it is worth the dosh. I sound like a tackle tart but I take pleasure in ownership of my kit, the same with my fishing gear and boat gear, the guns I own are treated in the same way. The adjustable laminate stock, to me is a thing of beauty and gives me pleasure in using it. The daughter of the shooting ground owner that I shoot both clays and target shooting has the same as me which has camo tape, netting and other bits on to break down the shape of the gu
  22. Nice shooting and well done with HW's first trip out. Phil
  23. Very nice they are Mark.. well chuffed with mine! ☺ + 1
  24. I would think it will sell in the US and made for that market. Phil
