We have a big cock pheasant comes every day and again totally safe as the girls would kill me if I shot it. It is nice to see however but my god is he a hungry bugger. Phil

Yes but by the time you pay the rfd so you can send it to his shop then add another £35 to it and its £780 like i say,d they have gone up, up here any way atvbmac  Possibly more Mac if you consider that there will be carriage from the RFD who is selling it and a charge from the RFD who it is being sent to. I had a quote for a gun from an RFD which worked out to £57 for both charges so I didn't bother. Phil

I think this is a marketing ploy and that is not a bad thing. If the product shoots like an HW100 but has a smaller mag and synthetic stock but sits well below the normal price tag for an HW100, then they have reached a new market who can't quite afford a new HW100 but may be able to afford this model, then they have succeeded. I don't think for one minute this company would produce an SMK in order to gain new market share so the quality should be what you expect from this gun stable. A good move on their part in my mind. I didn't know there was a difference between wood and tactical stocks Mitch, I wonder why, you would think an Ultra stock was the same for all models. Handy to know that. Phil

Mac that is very kind of you but my son in law has just bought a camo jacket yesterday so he is covered, if you excuse the pun, for a jacket and I have given him a set of gaitors but I thank you VERY much for your kind offer, really do. I found some cheap camo trousers on ebay £14, arrived Friday, super value for money, a bit big so may indulge in another pair a bit smaller which is not something I have to do very often if you follow my meaning. Thanks again Mac, very good of you matey. Phil

Here you go Mac, I was right they have fitted a Scorpian stock. Phil

Mine seemed to be on the money from the off. I did shoot some cleaner felt pellets with Napier power clean oil then away we went. For some reason I just do not connect with AA guns. I got a 410 for my son in law at Christmas, very smooth to shoot and accurate but I prefer the HW by a million miles, I know, it's just me. Phil

I think that Si Pittaway had a Scorpion stock fitted to his Ultra Mac when he had a full Ratworks makeover. Have a look on Vermin Hunters under ratworks reaper. Phil

My kids have grown up with a variety of guns in the house and have used them with my coaching and without doubt, I would have no hesitation in allowing them to take and use them if they had a shotgun cert but conversely I know a few 25 year olds that I would not trust with a low powered air pistol let alone a gun of value so the rule that a youngster has to be accompanied by someone over 21 is just a joke. What is the old saying.......................THE LAW IS AN ASS Phil

I used to shoot thousands of rooks in Derbyshire at lambing time so I know exactly what you mean Mac. We used to use owl decoys to bring them in close enough for a shot but that was with shotguns so don't know if the owl will work with an air rifle as we took them on the wing as they mobbed the owl. You need to look on the net to find where your firearms office is based and speak to that department and ideally the firearms officer. Don't just speak to the local station as they may well be quite uninformed. Speak to the RIGHT guy. Phil

I agree, the wording is not so straight forward and leaves the statement open to interpretation. To be honest, I would phone the local firearms officer, get his name as a reference and ask for confirmation that you are able to walk down the road with the gun unloaded, uncocked, in a gun bag to the land you have permission to shoot on. That way you have read the statement and had it confirmed by the police, in fact I would copy the statement that Mitch kindly posted and carry it with you along with the firearms officer's name noted. Over the years, I have found that a great many police offi

I stumbled across this vid which left me quite gob smacked. To be able to kill wild hogs with an air rifle, okay I'm sure it will be an FAC being in the US but nevertheless a .22 air rifle shooting an animal of this size is impressive. Phil
-
I bet it will be around a grand or perhaps not if they want to compete with the FX Wildcat as they seem to be able to sell all the stock very quickly at £899. One RFD told me that he has an ongoing order list as the demand outstrips the supply. What a good position for ASI to be in. Phil

I have just watched a couple of his vids and you have to admit the US hunters have some amazing places to shoot. An old business contact of mine in the states told me that you do not need permission to shoot the woods/forests and large amounts of land, likewise very few fishing permits are required to fish the lakes and rivers.................lucky b4stards. The FAC really hits hard, no kicking or frantic jumps, just dead quarry. Phil

The longer version looks better.

I like the HW mod but it looks as though your face is on a none face friendly metal area which is a shame in my book and to be honest the cocking lever is too far back. If I wanted a Bullpup type of gun, I would go for the FX Wildcat which has the cocking lever in the right place and although a metal comb, it remains quite comfortable when I shouldered it in the shop. Ah, okay, I'm not so switched on to these things, just going on the info passed onto me from the company I used. Phil

I will keep my finger crossed that the spare I have on its way to me can be used in that way.. Phil

I had a kayak collected (12' 4'') by a courier and the guy in Wales I sold it to had also booked the day off. It did not arrive so when I spoke to the courier, they said they had misplaced it and had no idea where it was.......................A TWELVE FOOT KAYAK for god's sake. Three days later they found it in Scotland !!!!!!!! I was lucky the buyer was okay with it as he knew it was not my fault. One thing with these couriers which I didn't know at the time was that if the parcel was lost or damaged, their insurance pays out to a maximum of £250 which would not cover my kayak or most
