  1. I bought two tins of FAP .177 from Country Way Gunshop including delivery next day for £18.99, £8.50 each and £1.99 for delivery which I don't think is too bad. Phil
  2. XTX AIR did the reg and tune ,but what i should of done , got Carl to do the whole lot would of been about £100 cheaper , live and learn This is what Carl said on another post To do a full tune to a ultra SE that is fitting a regulator fitting a larger air cylinder replacing the complete hammer system replacing the hammer spring guide doing other work recrowning the barrel porting the barrel throat and fitting a shroud silencer in anodized black alluminium is £180 i also do full carbon fibre shroud silencers in gloss or matt these on there own are £75 but if i do the full tune i d
  3. You zipped another post in before I posted my smileys Mac. I would normally use plain paper / card but the targets were the first thing I picked up and it was so cold, I had no intention of staying out long. Phil
  4. It looks fantastic Mitch, forgive me for asking but what was the total spend, £125 for shroud and cylinder and what for the reg and tune and did you have Carl do the reg/tune. Phil
  5. I take it the Pulsar is now off the sales list then Vis, not that it matters to me as I can't afford it at present. The rifle looks mean and very purposeful. Phil
  6. Just had a delivery of two tins, Falcon Accuracy Plus .177 today and had a play a few minutes ago. I sent a mag (14) through the HW, then had a go at the target although I know the gun needs leading up, just wanted to see what they are like. My cottage garden is only 15mts so not really a true test but nevertheless it was a start until I can get time to go to the range. One thing, it was bloody cold...................... The top hole is a 4 pellet group with the cross hairs on the centre and the lower group is a mildot hold under and a 10 shot group. I am quite pleased with that for a
  7. Enjoyed that Rez, quite a surprise regarding the drop off, weird... Phil
  8. Although this thread is a little out of date but just in case the original OP has not bought an RM8 yet, I will put in my two pence. Had one, got rid, don't buy it. A number of guys had problems with dropping power output, mine included 11.4 ft/lbs down to 9.6 after about 2500 shots. Airtech had 4 in for new custom built regs and a reduction in barrel length due to them being front end heavy. A few of them were looking to fit R10 air bottles to reduce weight of the steel bottles fitted. They are accurate but I can only suggest buying a BSA Ultra se instead. For you guys that like your
  9. I have an Ultrafire with 3 power modes. Low, med and high controlled by the on/off button. Press to switch on and then press lightly to change power. When you switch off, it will remain on the power setting you selected. Brilliant piece of kit, I paid £42 complete with an 18650 cell, charger and scope fittings but not a remote switch type. Phil
  10. Yes it was and less of the cheek, I don't walk into walls very often Phil
  11. My eyesight is worse than I thought, didn't see it has gone, what a twat. Phil
  12. Chris, if your eyes don't work, where does that put mine.... My son in law could make good use of the scope if no other members want it whch would mean that I could have my spare Hawke back from him. Phil
  13. Yes there were a couple of people who were having their two pence at Si but a number of us and Si himself shut them up. The original poster asked for the mods to lock the post as he had all his points answered. Phil
  14. No plans to have a wood stock at this time apparently. Phil
  15. I am only an hour from Sheffield so you can stay at my place Mitch and have a steady drive in and as I am really a Sheffielder for my first 43 years I know my way around the place so I can be your guide Phil
  16. Nice going there and as they say, every picture tells a story.....................the dogs story was that he/she enjoyed that. Well shot. Phil
  17. Checking my pocket money while typing I know however I will have to wait but the good thing is to have a plan, or at least I think it is. Phil
  18. Yes sorry I should have said, the varmint is AO on a side wheel.
  19. Have you got one or had one Mitch because I know you spoke very highly of the product to me and on the forum. I really do like the idea of this and being able to swap from one gun to another as you would with any add-on unit but with a quality that appears to be much better than most, well not including your Pulsar of course. I have the Hawke Varmint 4-16 x 44, pretty common so I'm guessing it would be suitable. Phil
  20. I bought an add on via ebay, very well put together but if I am totally honest, I wish I had not bought it but at £200, it does the job and will have to do until I can buy a PROPER NV. As VM says, he can't stand TV screen systems and I understand now what he means, very tricky to get hand-to-eye co-ordination, doesn't feel natural although many people do use them. Judging by the info on the Ward D-700, it is quite small so perhaps it will fit on the scope and without having to move the scope forward, still be a comfortable system to use. Certainly looks a neat little unit. Phil
  21. a very comprehensive review Davy. I believe you have covered every point for me although I would love to know what difference the power setting has on point of aim but that is something I will find out if and when I get one. If I were not retired, I would just go and buy one because I do like the look of it but cash doesn't allow me to do that nowadays so it will be something I have to try to save for. Retirement is great but it does have a few disadvantages, that being one of them. The Ultra is without doubt a good rifle and well proven in the field with many followers but to be fair, many
