  1. Strewth Jimmy, you have this subject sown up good style, that is one serious camo job or two. I think the net and tape break down even better than the dipped gun/scope. Phil
  2. Lost your tickets.............................I would be up for murder if anything caused me to lose my shotgun license, very sorry to hear that. Good choice of rifle even if it was a forced move. Phil
  3. Ahh, a different type Mark, I am surprised the RFD didn't know of the product but in truth I don't normally deal with him, strange bloke, it was just that he is close to me. I will try the RFD I usually go to as I will be in there this week. Cheers Mark Phil
  4. Just found the Brunox Turbo oil you use on ebay, seems it is used on motor bikes as well as general purpose, no wonder it is not sold in my RFD Phil
  5. Yes I have the same rangefinder Mark and I think Mitch has forgotten more about NV than I will ever know but for someone like me who has never been involved in night shooting other than wildfowl on a winters night on the salt marsh, this little device looks okay for the money, I will how ever be shooting without one first to see (or not see ) how I go on. I wonder if Napier Power Airgun oil will do the job as I have some. Does it affect the 'O' ring with oil on the mag Mark. Phil
  6. I got both the 25 and 30mm from ebay about £6 each if all else fails. Phil
  7. Quote: (even the hw100kt pile of sh**&*t) A MATTER OF OPINION OLD BOY, A MATTER OF OPINION. Phil
  8. I will show how old I am by remembering that we were part of E.F.T.A. (European Free Trading Association) long before we joined the Common Market which gave us a trading relationship with other countries, we then joined the Common Market to increase our ability to trade further with other countries. Let us just take a step back for a moment, the key word is TRADE and that is the only reason to be part of what then became the EU. We are now part of a faceless group who are telling this and all other countries what to do and what standards we have to keep. Germany is all powerful and I take
  9. Quote: (p.s. give a very light spray of gun oil to the loading side of your HW 100 magazine, every other refill - makes a big improvement to group sizes.) I have not heard of that before Mark but will give it a try, what spray oil do you use. As I now have a good rabbit perm with ideal night shooting from a statuary position on undulating ground, I had thought of getting one of these which can be used as a night viewing scope as well as a range finder rather than scanning with the gun. A few of the guys on another forum really rate them. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/6x32-Digital-IR-Nig
  10. Now I will say from the start that I am not an experieced air gun hunter but whilst on holiday I was walking in the woods after squirrels and free standing as I had not taken my trigger sticks so a bit of a disadvantage to say the least. After missing two, I found myself testing my ability or lack of it shooting at a few empty 12 gauge cartridge cases with an interesting outcome, I was shooting to the right. A quick check resting on a tree showed all was spot on but for some reason I was applying too much pressure on the trigger at second stage causing me to flinch to the right, perhaps try
  11. Sport of kings or so I am told. Hoping for a ratty perm very soon, good shooting by the way. Phil
  12. Now had it been a .22 Simon.............................................. What am I saying, only just got the TX, stop it you fool Phil
  13. I saw a girls HW100 camo'd up (yes a girl) which was tape on the barrel and a scrim net scarf draped over the gun with two holes for the scope to peep through and held in place with thick rubber bands at each end of the scope tube which kept the whole net in place. She added a few bits from a hide to the net and that was it, very effective and removed in 30secs when not needed, of course it takes no space in a bag or pocket so can be added to the gun in the field as and when required again in seconds. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Military-Style-Camo-Mesh-Neck-Scarf-Scrim-Net-Sniper-Face-Veil-
  14. I contacted that seller on ebay of the £18 suits to establish what the sizes really were as they talk of size across the shoulder or something daft like that but just got jibberish reply. The one from Amazon looks better than the Deer Hunter suit if I am honest with more loose leaf, it will be interesting to compare them but I think you have got the better one Jimmy. Phil
  15. I really like the finish Jimmy, no shine just a nice lustre showing the grain which is exactly what I want on my TX200. Phil
  16. So now you are ready for the testing to begin boys, it will be interesting to see how it works for Simon, lot of work there Jimmy, well done mate. Phil
  17. Well done, I think we need to start a stockworks section admin, it could turn out to be a very photo heavy and in depth section. Phil
  18. When I phoned them to place my order, they had far more sizes than shown on the advert. It's true that their sizes are smaller than some other companies. I normally take XL or with some companies XXL but with Deer Hunter I take 3XL, for the fuller figure you understand...to be honest, it really doesn't matter if the suit is larger than your true size as these mesh suits can be a loose fit and still function perfectly because they are not designed to be FITTED clothes. Phil
  19. Use this link to find you a club in whatever part of the country you wish. Key the region at the top of the page then the type of shooting on the next page. I have a hard copy but I think this site will give you what you need. http://www.shootingclubdirectory.com/ This one might be suitable for you, if not search the site above. http://www.shootingclubdirectory.com/listings/minsterley-ranges/ Hope that helps Phil
  20. I have just got round to opening all the mail Jimmy and yes the targets have arrived so thank you mate, spot on.......if you excuse the pun I should have also said the suit is printed in real tree so not plain coloured fabric. I am very pleased, I would take a photo to show you you won't be able to see me. Phil
  21. Whilst I have been on holiday, I picked up a copy of Sporting Gun magazine and the Sportsman gun shop in wales has some Deer Hunter clothes on offer. In the selection of gear in the sale is a thin mesh leaf suit for sale at £24.99 plus £6 postage so I bought one. It arrived before we got back, very nice indeed, quiet material, built in peak and face veil and a large front pocket, superb value for money, so if any of you fancy a leaf / gille suit at a cheap price......... I must say these suits dont have anywhere as much leaf effect on as an out and out gillie suit but there again they are not
  22. I think you have done a 'cracking' job there Jimmy, your nepew should be pleased as well with the hours you must have spent on that mate. Phil
  23. I have had a look through one in a shop as somebody brought it in with a fault. To be honest, it sat a fair way back so for me the scope would need to be put further forward, then would it be too far forward for daytime use....... Have a look at the Ward 700 that Mitch pointed me towards which is smaller and I think lighter than the Atom. No doubt he will be able to add some valid input to the Ward D700 system as he knows a great deal about them. Phil
  24. Brilliant job Jimmy. If I had seen this before you started, I would have told you about a glue called Caskamite used by the trade, dries rock hard and is very very strong. It is a while since I have had any of the stuff and don't actually know if it is still available but amazing stuff all the same. Phil
  25. A friend of mine who writes for Airgun Shooter mag has two lurchers which are his best pals and takes them to retreive every time he is out. lovely dogs, really tempted to get one myself. Phil
