  1. I had hold of the 410SL the other week, very impressed with how well balanced they are. Nice shooting by the way. Phil
  2. You hit the nail on the head David along with some woodies that like to sit in the trees above a place where I set my hide. Now need to get some pellets to try, got AA Field but want some others including Mitch's FAP. Now there is a point, where is the best place to get them as nobody in my area sells them. Phil
  3. For a few weeks now, my wife has shown some interest in shooting with an air rifle, she is already an experienced clay shooter and fancied having her turn with the rifle. I have been on the lookout for a small lightweight rifle, the obvious one was an Ultra but as she is buying it, did not want to spend that much on a rifle and then a scope as she may not be that keen after using the gun a while. Whilst we were in my local RFD, she spied on the shelf, a Brocock Aim-X Contour .22 which although it is a single shot gun, really appealed to her. Very light to carry around the perm and despite

  5. Building up nicely I think Mark Phil
  6. If that is a GAT Rez, it was my first gun and loved it, however I didn't know any better but to me it was the bees knees and a few starling and rats paid the price Phil
  7. I have, in my limited time with airguns, taken suggestion from people like Mitch who has years more experience than myself but I have to test a given pellet before being comitted to a brand. The pellet testing process is something I really enjoy and it is a good learning curve about both the gun and the pellet being tested. In my clay shooting experience, I have bought tens of thousands of cartridges and over 40+ years of shooting, I would alway buy a few boxes of shells before jumping in for a thousand. I think it is fair to say that I like to keep a very open mind on both guns and what w
  8. Glad to made it home safe and sound Jimmy. I have been busy in the garden today but found a little time to have a few shots with the TX all be it at a somewhat reduced range compared to Simon's garden, not bad though. I enjoyed the day and hope we can do it again. The TX certainly like the AA Express but I have to look for another supplier as I am not paying 13.50 for a tin of .177 pellets. I will order some JSB Express from Voymir and perhaps some JSB Heavies as their prices are way better than the price I was charged for the AA's. Roll on another meet. Phil
  9. Today, I went a little further south to Pianoman's house at his kind invitation to meet up with himself, Mac and Little Hunter also known Simon, Jimmy and Ethan. The get together was mainly to try out the remodelled Prosport that Jimmy has been working hard on but that side I will leave for the boys to talk about, all I will say is 'Jimmy, you are a clever chap'. The reason for me going down apart from meeting the guys was to get some help with the dark art of springer shooting and whilst I stand in sheer amazment in the skill that was demonstrated. I watched as Simon put 4 pellets on top of
  10. I have for many years had a passion for different types of fishing, I am a sea angling coach and a casting instructor for one of the magazines. I love being on the water and over the years owned a number of boats from kayaks, speed boats, sailing craft, 30' fishing boats but I always come back to inflatable boats and currently own a RIB for family fun and fishing. This is my friend giving it a test run when I first bought it Not airgun I know but a keen clay shooter along with my wife and just love it. Phil
  11. It only takes that split second Jimmy..................................
  12. Very light rain but patchy, some heavy rain this afternoon but right here is not a good guide as I am next to the sea.....well river humber where the tide can and often does affect the wind which in turn can simply move clouds away or of course bring them in. Rain forcast in Simon's area about 3pm according to BBC Weather so fingers crossed Jimmy. Phil
  13. Yep, got it mate thank you and one from Simon. I know where he lives as we pass his house or road every time we go to Suffolk but didn't know until I saw the address. I will aim to get there around 10-10.30 so you have a bit of time to chat before I get there. Looking forward to seeing you both..................................pray to the weather gods, I think we might need a bit of luck there. I will PM you my mobile if any problems Jimmy. Phil
  14. You can buy filters from ebay which is far cheaper than buying a monitor with brightness controls. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/151007461217?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT Phil
  15. Great to see our kids sharing our sport, make the most of it until clothes, music and boys become more fun. Well done to both of you. Phil
  16. They used to make a double case but even if you buy two, they are well priced and offer superb protection. I used to buy their stuff at trade, very good gear. Phil
  17. Hmmm sounds like a vague plan coming together, time to dig out my carp bivvy. Phil
  18. shhh, my HW100 will hear you and be deeply offended
  19. I will not swear to it but I heard that you will have to get a temporary visitors ticket to take your gun but you know as well as I do that it is unlikely you would have a problem but a phone call to the police is the easiest way forward in future. Phil
  20. Thanks Si, I had no idea about your project but nevertheless a cracking offer from both you and Jimmy, well done gentlemen. Phil
  21. Now thats what I am talking about.....................serious nutssss Phil
  22. This should prove to be an interesting project Si but I think I must have missed something, what prize ??? Phil
  23. I have been carefully watching the activity from the pigeon, well I would if any turned up but I gave it a couple of hours but apart from the odd crow well out of range, nothing to be seen. A change of plan was called for so I went round to the warren pasture where there is a deep valley lined with trees which had quite a number of mixed corvids resting in the trees. I put up around 20 or 30 crows as I worked my way round the track. The sun was now taking the temperature way up and I assume the crows were simply staying out of the heat. Once settled under a large tree giving me some sh
