I am more than happy to do that Rez, just let me get a bit more proficient so I not too outclassed matey. I would love to have a shot or two with your HM1000. We might be able to get Chris (Seamaster) in on the act as well. Phil

Thanks chaps, I am really pleased with it.

Thanks Mark, I will be trying that tomorrow.

Great stuff Jimmy. I know I have a long way to go with this gun and I am happy to have a challenge to be honest so I'm okay with that. On the range today I used a bag of seed to rest the gun on and bit by bit I am loosening the grip much like the PCP, the result was the pellets closest to the centre so I understand where you are coming from. PM on it's way mate and thanks. Phil

Very nice Matt, the stumpy mod seems to reduce the sound quite well even on the indoor range. Phil

I have been over to the RFD to try a Stumpy mod which did improve the noise level and tried to zero the scope but that was not so easy being a raw novice with a springer, I take my hat off to you gentlemen who can make them sing but nevertheless I have to start somewhere. After firing a few shots to get the feel of the gun I stuck a target up at 25mt using FAP pellets and here are my crap results but I am not too embarrassed, I need to learn the technique and hopefully Mac and Pianoman will put me on the right road later this month. As a matter of interest, the total spread of pellets is 35mm

Well after debating a great deal regarding the HW97, AA Prosport and the AA TX200HC, the decision was made and I picked up my TX .177 with a walnut stock yesterday. I am toying with fitting a 'Stumpy' mod but not sure regarding the insert needed for the barrel as the plastic insert fitted as standard is longer than the after market insert so perhaps some of you have gone down this road and can advise. I don't want the AA mod, just too long. Here she is :- I think she needs a bit of oil on the stock as it is very flat and to be honest darker than others I have seen. P

A very nice brace there Si, FAP and JSB exacts do the job in mine. ENJOY Phil

A bailiff on a river that I fish has just got a pistol for dispatching mink. I arranged for him to go to my local RFD as I could not be there when he came to the area and left word with the RFD to sort him something suitable, if you want I can ask the RFD as I will be going in tomorrow what the pistol was that he supplied. Really not sure but I think it was a single shot gun. Phil

I hope you are right Mitch, I simply repeated what I was told by Hull Cartridge, sounds like a lot of people would prefer what you have been told rather than what I was told. With that in mind, it will be interesting to see when they actually become available.
-
You got it Mitch and then it is not confirmed, simply that Hull Cartridge are advised the delivery SHOULD be here in September. Also bear in mind that there are over 800 advanced orders plus the stock so we are talking a minimum of 1000 unit required for the UK. Forgive me as I cannot remember the exact numbers involved but trust me when I quote 1000 but I think it is higher than that. Phil

Reshaping A Pro Sport To A Lefty
philpot replied to bigmac 97kt's topic in Rifle Reviews, Technical Help and Tips
Premier Guns in Derbyshire alters and fits adjustable combs to all manor of guns and I have thought before when looking at both mine and my wifes shotguns which have these combs that they are not so complicated it is just a matter of getting the rise n fall posts/locks which must be made by some company and supplied to the trade. Now with that Jimmy, wouldn't it be perfect for projects like this allowing you to basically remodel the comb top. The kit can't be too expensive because Premier will do the job for you at approx £200. Just me mumbling to myself, take no notice. Phil -
Reshaping A Pro Sport To A Lefty

Would it be worth getting simon to make some paper or card profiles of the side of his left hooker stock to give you a template to work to. If you got 4 or 5 profiles, it would give you a real guide to model the stock to. It is a great opportunity to take your stock finishing skills up to the next level Jimmy, good on her mate. Phil -
To be honest Rez, I left the camera and phone in the car which really annoyed me as I wanted to put some photo's up. One very good point was that you got a 30 page free show guide, a great help to find who is where and a refreshing change from most shows where they try to rip you off. Phil

No problem at all and we didn't get there until noon. If you have pre paid, there is a car park closer for those who have tickets. The normal car park is a pleasant 10 min walk. It is worth taking a jumper as the wind blows a bit there although I was fine, my wife got a little cold. Phil

Trish (my wife) and I have just got home after visiting the show which was very enjoyable. I went there on a mission with specific things in mind and on that score it was a success. I have been looking at a springer as some of you may have read but could not decide which to go for, the list was Air Arms Prosport and TX200HC or Weihrauch 97k or 77k, Walther Underlever which I cannot remember the model but really was not that interested after owning an RM8 so that was dropped very very quickly. After much discussion with various stands and some test shooting, the TX came out on top in sooooo

It is worth phoning Countryway as they are a big supplier but the web page only says 4.5 as do most places so you need to speak to them Rez. http://www.countrywaygunshop.co.uk/product/hn-field-target-trophy-177-22-20-25-air-rifle-pellets/ Phil

There are some very experienced HW100 owners on here who will I am sure be able to enlighten you more than I can BUT all I can say is that, like you, I heard so many good things about these rifles, I decided to exchange my gun for one of these.................the best thing I ever did, These guns just feel right for me, will outshoot me, and when this old fool does it right, produce one hole groups all day long. Try one if you have not already done so. Phil

Little Hunters First Go Of His New Hw100, 177
philpot replied to bigmac 97kt's topic in General Airgun Discussion
I wish I could remember but it is around 40 years ago but I have just googled the G80 but no photo's. The best way to describe it would be a very short springer that looks to have a full length shroud so it looks quite chunky. I think they were also branded Milbro Diana. I will keep looking but thanks Mark. Phil -

Had A Couple Of Hours Tonight With The Hw 100 Kt .177
philpot replied to mark williams's topic in Airgun Hunting
Just for a moment Mark, the first photo looks like you have had extra long barrel and cylinder fitted, then saw in the second photo, it was the trigger sticks, silly old bugger. Nice shooting mark. Changing the subject, do you find the TX200 shoots well of the sticks with the recoil. Phil -

You know the more I see what you are doing Jimmy and the genuine appreciation you have Simon for the work being done, I think we all share in your joy of what is about to land on your door. Very interesting post Jimmy, I think I might print this off if you don't mind. Phil
