I guessed that was the vid you were talking about mate. But what about my pellet issue boys, come on Mac, Mitch, Simon, David, Mark and any other boffins..........................ideas ideas ideas boys. I should say the gun has been chrono checked at 11.6fps on two machines Phil

I tried out my wife's Brocock .22 with the red lamp last week, nothing doing but just thought I would have one or two shots under red light to see how accurate the gun and myself was. I saw the pellet over a 40mt (ish) was spiraling rather than a straight path. A few more shots, all the same which would explain why the flyers on the range. I popped into the RFD today and asked him and an old chap, well in his eighties said 'head size mate'. if the head is loose, it will spiral, then he and his dog left, he is said to be a bit of a guru with air guns and everything to do with them so I take i

There seems to be plenty of rabbits in my part of the world and interestingly mostly during the day including early morning. I am seeing very few at night, perhaps foxes of which there are very many. In our village alone my pal took the rifle for a wonder last week and shot four in one night. He said that there were plenty that were out of range so perhaps we have a fox issue over here not a rabbit problem however talking to a guy in the gun shop on Saturday who drives a combine harvester for an agency said he had been asked by three farmers to come back and shoot the rabbits as they were givi

Zero Ranges For Sub 12Ft Lb And Fac Air.
philpot replied to mark williams's topic in General Airgun Discussion
If I recall Mark, the power issue in the footage was an HW100 in .177 sent to Ted and was wildly uncontrollable in terms of accuracy, once it had been lowered in fps, it became spot on. The main issue was that a .177 pellet was a bit flighty with too much power which makes sense. It sounds like that Rapid in .22 could be just right. I have never shot an FAC .177 so have no real comment to make but for me, the idea of a .22 with a better trajectory and a slight improvement in stopping power/distance is a win win situation. Still waiting for the ticket to come through before I can get me -
Ah boys, don't misunderstand me, I really like the PROPER Ultra and would never say they were anything other than 'well proven' but if I wanted a compact little gun that does everything I want, the Wildcat ticks more boxes for me. Like many things, it is down to personal preference and I might still have one. I have read on so many threads here and other sites where people have had Ultras tuned, regged and in some cases longer air cylinders which have made them into something really special so if I had one, it would have to be Airtech'ed by the man himself. That however doesn't remove the

The outfit I bought from a guy on ebay is still going with some tweeks and to be honest it is far sharper image than the Nite Site Viper I bought from Mac although the Viper is both lighter and a better range. There is a chap known as 'some bloke' (youtube and airgun forum) who makes lens holders and handles to make spotting scopes which I am going to use my original NV for, I think. I need an old SLR camera 50mm lens with a screw thread to have a play around with to see if it can be done.

There was a lot of hooha on airgun forum regarding BSA stopping production of the Ultra in favour of this piece of crap known as the Ultra XL but at present they still keep coming into the RFD but for how long. I ought to buy one I guess before they stop producing them but I would prefer a Wildcat any day if I am honest, no tuning needed. Phil

Zero Ranges For Sub 12Ft Lb And Fac Air.

Quote:- A rimfire doing 90 ft/lbs and poor marksmanship will result in a rabbit running away shot because the shot placement was poor. This also applies to every gun including a shotgun Mark. Without doubt, accuracy and field craft are involved with all live quarry hunting sports so really providing the person actually using the gun is not an idiot and shoots to both his accurate distance limit and the gun's limit, there is no case to answer in terms of power as each gun class will have it's own 'safe' killing distance and so will the person shooting the gun. The problem comes abo -
And now with the new XL version................................................................................crash helmet on, I'll get me coat. Phil

Depending what make it is, some have a lifetime warranty so it is worth contacting the RFD to establish what is the score with the scope to have. Phil -

I don't know if it is my speakers but the sound is very muffled. Good to see another Sheffielder on here, I left the home town twenty years ago however to the east coast (there weren't many cod to be caught in Sheffield ). I still go back to shoot with some friends every now and then. Welcome to the forum Phil -
I tried some a pal sent me and they were really good with a lot of followers on other forums. Phil

Anyone we know won it.............................I am sad to say it wasn't me unless I have not been told yet Phil

I will be ducking behind him David and that is for sure. Just been talking to the makers of my NV and despite the fact that I have another on the way, I want to sort this one out. We think it may well be the IR illuminator that is at fault so they are sending me one of theirs to try. To be honest, I am interested in converting it into a spotter scope if I can sort the IR, if in fact that is the fault, so in the next couple of days I will find out. Some busy night work coming up methinks. Phil

Yes we will have to arrange something Jimmy, might even take you out with the shotgun..................... Phil
