  1. Good to hear your first outing with the Photon was a great start, well done. Phil
  2. I will just for moment go back to topic and say if I can help with a meet in some way, just let me know. If a venue proves tricky, I can have words at an international clay shooting club that my wife and I are members as there is some land that could be used based near Beverley, East Yorks. http://www.beverleyctc.co.uk/ Please don't take it as read that I can get the use of this venue but simply that I will make enquiries if land becomes a problem. Phil
  3. If you decide to hold a meet up there, I am in. Phil
  4. Now that is a NICE THUMBHOLE stock as well Jimmy Phil
  5. Pleased to hear you had a good weekend boys, pity the weather was not so kind. There is always another time though My perm is so dry, I can walk around in flip flops, not that I do however. Phil
  6. Trouble is clay shooting is totally different kettle of fish to airgun . you are not really walking around the countryside trying to be silent , a low profile and blending in with the surroundings around you on a nice quiet day , instead you are standing there with a few other guns all going BANG ,BANG ,they can never just let one cartridge go they must let both barrels go , i hate bang bang guns and i use to shoot them as well I agree Mitch, it is totally different and cannot be compared but both have great appeal to me. I have shot clays for over 40 years at local clubs and national
  7. I can only agree with you Rez, what a stunner. Phil
  8. You have hit the nail on the head Jimmy, just what I had in mind. Great minds think alike matey. I am going to make the other stock into a finished gun as well so they can both stand in the fireplace next to the log burner, a fitting place to show his work. Phil
  9. Nice to hear of your new toy, I have to say that I don't understand how a parent could just leave their children with no further contact, that simply beats the hell out of me. Phil
  10. I have been lucky with my kids. My son loved shooting air rifles and spent hundreds of hours in out cellar target range and loading 12 gauge cartridges with me in the days when it was much cheaper to load your own. My oldest daughter was like my shadow, whatever I did, she did and became a cracking little sea angler but not shooting although she does enjoy a good plinking session with my son in law and myself, she is a better shot than my son in law if I am being honest. My youngest daughter loves nature so not keen on me shooting live quarry but she loves fishing when I take her which
  11. An old chap in our village sadly died a few weeks ago, in fact the grandfather of someone I know. In years gone by Jeff was a keen wildfowler, pigeon shooter and dog trainer leaving a few sacks of bits and bobs which were offered to me rather than throwing them in the skip. I readily accepted whatever was to come....................today, four sacks arrived, 10 floating, weighted duck decoys with tethering lines still attached, shell and whole pigeon decoys, an old canvas wildfowler's game bag, which I love and will make full use of and a pile of various weighted dog training dummies but a
  12. I have not reached that point with air rifles yet, maybe the HW100, not sure but after almost 50 years with shotguns, my Beretta DT10 32'' sporter will be going nowhere. Phil
  13. I am a few years older than some or most of you ......okay quite a few years older alright.....and when I was a kid we all wanted a gun of some sort which usually started with a pea shooter or catapult or spud gun but whichever we progressed to AIR GUNS, in my case a GAT pistol then the Meteor etc etc but now kids don't want to be in fresh air, climbing trees and shooting, well almost anything, they like to be curled up in a comfortable chair texting whilst playing electronic games..................sad, fcuking sad in my book. Phil
  14. Flambeau make hard cases for rifle ans scope, worth a phone call. http://www.uttings.co.uk/c540-gun-slips-and-hard-cases/brand=flambeau/ Phil
  15. Nice one, love the thumb hole stock on mine...................................Mac loves them too.......................wait for it, where's my helmet. Phil
  16. Sorry, I was thinking of fbs but I was just about right at that distance for fbs Phil
  17. It is a super flat finish Nath. is it sprayed on paint. Phil
  18. I seem to remember that I read it was 6-7fps at 45mt but probably wrong, I usually am Phil
  19. I have two friends who use them and love em to bits. If I am honest, the real advantage for me is the weight reduction carrying it around and freehand shooting, I am getting a old tart but can't really see me moving on the HW, far to good. Sorry Sean, highjacked your thread a bit there so I have done mate. Phil
  20. Sounds like a GREAT plan. Incidently Si, why has the greenhouse been buried underground, most people including me find they work much better on top of the soil mate, then you wouldn't need to dig it out. Phil
  21. Changing the subject slightly, if I were not going on holiday in a weeks time, I would have been VERY VERY TEMPTED to buy a cracking Wildcat with a walnut stock today but I am being a good boy..........................for now. Not selling the HW100 though. Phil
  22. That is good to hear Sean, could there be a wind of change, lets hope so, not just for you but everyone else. Phil
  23. Well done you, a golf course, that must be rabbit heaven, fresh short grass, it doesn't get much better but rats, now that I am really jealous about. I really want a ratting perm. Phil
  24. You could always buy a set of adjustable mounts, then just crank em up for new zero. Seen it on youtube.......................looks very fiddly to me but who knows. Phil
  25. Cheers Si, I will have a play with that Phil
