  1. I used to make the journey every year for the British Open Sporting Championship, super ground, used to put on a long long crosser every year and I never even frightened one let alone hit the buggers. I thought that ground closed some years ago. Phil
  2. Well that is good to know guys.
  3. Have a look at Crawfords Shooting Supplies web site as the one he has is in very nice condition and they are only in Scunthorpe so not a huge distance for you. I think it is a .22. Phone number is 01724 846 000 I know it looks like I am plugging this RFD, I just go in there quite a lot. Phil
  4. Well I just have not had time to go to the perm or to the range only played in the garden with it and I must say, I like it very much. I have decided to buy another couple over the coming months to use on other guns. The weight is spot on, glass is spot on and the recticle is spot on, what more could I ask for. The only thing I don't know is what it is going to be like in low light, dawn and dusk because the Genesis is fantastic and that may be the only downside but we will have to wait and see with that aspect. Phil
  5. Thanks Matt, I am just pondering at the moment. Phil
  6. It might help if you state what your budget is. I use o/u shotguns for all my clay shooting and a semi auto for pigeon shooting in a hide and that is when they really come into their own. An o/u is safer both for you to learn on but also many clay grounds frown on semi autos as it is not so easy to see if the gun is still loaded. The o/u will be heavier than a semi auto but that is a good thing because as already said, it helps to absorb recoil which allows you more flexibility with cartridge choice but more than that, the heavier gun will help to keep your movement of the gun on a target mor
  7. There is one in my local RFD with the split stock, quite querky but I confess that I prefer them to the Mk2/3 Phil
  8. I have one of these on permanent loan to my son in law and to be honest, they are a decent scope. I think the newer one would focus down to 10mt but the one I had was still quite blurred at 14mt and not quite pin sharp at 15-16mt so very tiring on the eyes for close range stuff like plinking in my little cottage garden of 15mt. That one in the ebay advert is worth a punt but not for me, must be AO. Phil
  9. I just had a look Jon, and no it's not 'pots'..................................Rez I need a word........................... ..........................actually a lot more polite than some names I have been known to answer to however. The Wildcat is not too bad a price but I want it next year although not killing it off just yet...............................3 Mamba Lites Jon................oh strewth here we go again. Enquiry made !!! Phil
  10. Hi Can you confirm which Hawke scope you have on the Wildcat please. What sort of shotgun are you looking for. If I am totally honest, I want a Wildcat but was not really looking too hard until next year (bought too many guns/scopes this year) but I never say never. Phil
  11. Rez, give Crawfords in Scunthorpe a call because he has a couple of simmons scopes in his s/h section, if he has a WTC, I will pick it up for you and meet up to hand it over before I bugger off to Suffolk again. If he has one and you want me to get it, just tell him Phil Roberts will collect. Phil
  12. How about something like this Brocock Contour single shot PCP which as it happens might just be up for sale very soon. 35'' with mod, 28'' without mod and weighing about 2.5k, super super light. Shown with my Stumpy mod which is 2'' less than the one on now so really 33'' with the mod shown. Phil
  13. There is a chap on Airgun Forum, Honest Bob, who has produced a ratter from a PCP pistol by making a skeleton stock, fitted a mod and scope which is really good but it comes down to you making the stock yourself. I know that I couldn't do it but you might be able to make one. Phil
  14. Have not seen those for a long time............ Phil
  15. Perish the thought Mark.......................
  16. Just opened a few parcels that have been delivered today, one of them is the Mamba Lite scope I bought on flebay Sunday night. On first viewing, very impressed with both the glass and the weight. Never had the Christmas tree recticle before but I am sure I will get used to it. A change round of scopes tonight/tomorrow morning, Mamba Lite onto the Ultra, the Nikko Mountmaster onto the TX and the Varmint from the TX is already off and possibly fit to the Rapid when I get it. I have some serious thinking to do regarding rifle line up after I get into the Rapid because it is likely that m
  17. Cheers Rez, that will be good mate. Phil
  18. Ah well, enjoy the biking before it gets too cold. Phil
  19. If you make the holes bigger, don't go right through so the mag can't be pushed all the way through. It would look and work much better. Phil
  20. Completely agree but not sure what the score would be with old charlie. To be honest though, I think it would be as rare as hens teeth that I would get close enough to even consider a shot, it is more theory than any intention. Phil
  21. Well I will get some in .22 when I have the gun to try out, it may be quite interesting. Phil
