  1. Well I think I could hit a 10m bolt at 60mt as well Jimmy after all 10m is about 35ft..........if however we are talking 10mm at 60mt, then I don't like Ethan any more. We will have a chat about the stocks Jimmy after Xmas mate, thank you. Phil
  2. Good move Shaun but I have to tell you that there is not a .77 in pellet size but there is a .177, perhaps it could be that one matey. Phil
  3. Love it Mark and yes I am an owd twat for sure mate. State pension starting 4th Jan, that will pay for the Wildcat in .177 I am quite amazed at the difference in the TX Mark, very very accurate, clover leaf at 25mt with 10 shots, took me by sheer surprise I can tell you that. This is a completely different rifle. Phil
  4. Very true although sometimes it is nice to own something which gives pleasure even though it may not get used so much. Phil
  5. Nearly called in a few weeks ago Simon as I passed your front door but time was against me otherwise I would have given you a call. It really does shoot far better than before Simon, it has to for me to produce the groups I did yesterday although it was only 25mt but nevertheless compared to groups of the past at this distance, there is a vast improvement for me at any rate............................It would be interesting to see what you thought of it now. Phil
  6. No, I am leaving it just for the minute Jimmy but will be doing it before long mate and the Rapid beech stock is sh1t so that need s some work. Phil
  7. On the subject of Julia wanting to shoot, let her, as Jimmy says, use your gun until she is really up for a gun herself. My wife and I really enjoy clay shooting and following on from that Trish thought an air rifle would allow her to share in this aspect of shooting but she just didn't seem to come to terms with it. I bought her a Brocock Contour, super lightweight gun, no good. I bought the Ultra as much as anything for her to shoot (I didn't tell her that) but again she just cannot get comfortable with a rifle. Don't splash the cash until she is READY, it can add pressure on her and tak
  8. To be honest Shaun, Jimmy has given you some wise words, heed them mate. This shooting mularky will digest loads and loads of dosh, trust me I have been shooting from the age of 13................................ouch. As Jimmy said, you have two cracking guns and another PCP will offer you................WHAT??.......................nothing different. I appear to have too many guns at the moment and it is true but I have a small window of opportunity while a bit of cash is there and once gone I can't replace it very easily so my tinkering with multiple guns is short lived and will
  9. Happy to shoot targets with it for the time being Tim, fully occupied with the Rapid FAC and Wildcat at the moment but enjoying the TX now matey, bloody superb, many thanks for your time and know how. Phil
  10. I think you mean 'Philpot' not that it matters. Glad you have a club to go to and one with a decent reputation. Good luck with it all and enjoy every minute. Phil
  11. It would be very worthwhile to get hold of some Falcon Accuracy Plus or JSB Exact Jumbo RS both of which are light, flatter flight and suit springers as I have established in .177 versions. Phil
  12. If you want to save some cash Shaun, I will be selling my Utramax .177 which you can tune to your hearts content and it is in camo.......................... Phil
  13. Yes, in the UK we are allowed to own / use air rifles with a maximum 12 ft/lbs. Over this power level, you will need a Firearms License. Phil
  14. This year has been broken down into many parts with different commitments and projects, some very enjoyable and some a pain in the arse but on a shooting aspect the year has thrown up some very rewarding and interesting things. I have done a little streamlining of my shotguns, moving on a couple that did not meet up to what I now require in my guns and adding a semi auto which a year ago, I would not have put into the frame at all but as my clay shooting and pigeon/corvid shooting have quite different demands and so my guns have, for the time being, changed to a point that I am reasonably
  15. First call is your local gun shop and check what he sells and the price for a slab (250 cartridges). The prices will vary for different types and to be honest as you are just starting out, I would not buy into the top competition brands. The other thing to bear in mind is that many clay shooting clubs will sell cartridges cheaper than the shops so well worth looking at. The advantage of joining a clay shoot is that you will have a great place to learn, picking up a little help from others as well as getting the low down on where to buy at the best prices if not at the club itself. If you d
  16. I thought that was just the way you walked Nelly.......... Phil
  17. See if you can meet up with an owner and try one out. Phil
  18. I have to be honest and say that despite the ribbing I got from a few on here when I stated very clearly that I was going to get a Compatto. Well after I put one to the shoulder, I was seriously disappointed, just did nor sit well in the shoulder, crappy plastic stock and believe when I say I really really wanted one but just didn't like it at all. You have to be fair about these things and say there are a number of very satisfied owners out there although I have seen a few almost new ones up for sale so perhaps didn't meet the demands of the owner. Phil
  19. I see the bug has bitten good style Nelly, I thought you were skint anyway. Phil
  20. The Compatto had it's issues at the start but there are quite a number of very happy users out there now, the new follow on gun, the Bantam offers a Rapid/ R10/ Impact type of gun which I feel tick a lot of boxes for many shooters. Price will be the all important factor with this gun. I like the options that are on offer especially the carbon fibre bottle and the shot count that goes with it. It will be interesting to see how this develops but I would not buy one of the new models for a while until Brocock/Daystate has had time to iron out the issues that seem to go with most new guns laun
  21. I think there is little doubt that I will be having a bit of a sort out. Phil
  22. What a lovely stock to start with but now after Jimmy has cast his fairy dust over it, just stunning, simply stunning. Phil
  23. I would like to hear the response to that question Si...... Phil
  24. I have been offered a cocker spaniel Mark, a Crufts champion no less, broke a tooth so no more showing but at 5 years old, a little old to start training I think despite the fact that it is free. It is difficult to explain Mark but the cottage sticks into the field on 3 sides with 3' walls and the drive sweeps into the rear patio with no gate or fence. The cost of installing a suitable fence and gates run into a few grand because the last thing I want is not to be able to look across the field with a high fence so we are talking custom made wrought iron or similar and to be honest, is it w
