  1. So all we need is a bit of warm weather and we are in business, combine it with the meet we all talked about earlier in the year and bingo, a weekend cracker, can't shoot for sh1t but what the hell, I will give you all something to laugh at Phil
  2. The middle gun stood up at the back Moxy, Mk2 with 16'' barrel, don't know if that is yours but any idea what pellets are used in that one. My FAC .22 is also a 16'' barrel and I have not started pellet testing as yet but advised that the shorter barrel can cause issues with lighter pellets so just trying to get in some that will suit it. Phil
  3. Never eaten one Mark but I also believe they are very boney, I'm very happy to have a good fight and let them go for another day. With all the rain today the rivers will be murky so no good for lure fishing and I can't be arsed sitting with dead baits all day so the shooting will take first place as soon as the back lets me until the waters clear then shooting and pike fishing will be shared time for me. Phil
  4. Must say I am eager to get out and play with the Rapid but also looking forward to the start of pike fishing. Phil
  5. I must bear this in mind guys A bit easier today, good job as we were flooding around the house at 4.30pm and had to have the tanker to pump water away, not gone by any means but not raining at present so when the tide goes out, it will allow some of the surface water to drain off........................................fingers crossed. Getting my waders on was not easy though. Phil
  6. When the weather gets warmer boys, I will bring the bivvy up and camp over and we can have a mates meet.......................up norf Phil
  7. The marking on the mag is very common and whilst I can't remember what the adjustment or slight polishing is, there is an easy fix that I heard from a number of owners on AGF talk about a little while ago. I can ask Si as someone in London I know has a couple of Wildcats and an Impact. Phil
  8. Right, any info.............................I have only got my hands on one for about 15mins at the Game Fair where they had a have a go type area where you could try a few rifles out and I chose the Wildcat. It is not like a bullpup with cocking lever in your ear nor does it feel strange in the shoulder as the WC while not having a super shaped comb, it feels as though it does, in fact once in the shoulder it is simply a very quick handling air rifle which shoots superbly in my opinion. As you can tell, I was very impressed and one will be living in my cabinet next year. Phil
  9. Sounds like you had a good one Si and Nelly will have benefited no end by the follow up training/coaching. Phil
  10. I would like to say YES I have one but sadly not YET. Get it bought matey. Phil
  11. Thanks guys, I am a past master when it comes to back trouble and I don't think this bout is going to be be a major problem just a pain in the arse. When it was bad back in the eighties, I was off work for months until I had surgery but I know this is not going to be so bad providing I manage the situation as I have learned over the years. It is just bad timing, quite a few things to do at the moment which will have to be left in order not to push it over the edge. All four of my rifles have the scopes removed in the process of a change over and I am seriously wanting to get them all sorte
  12. Cheers Mark. I have not had back problems for a few years in fact since I had an operation on my back, it has been fine...................................bloody age I bet. Oh well no doubt I will sit and watch a Christmas film or two this afternoon to pass the time on. Phil
  13. I bought another gun cabinet a couple of days ago as I am getting a bit tight for space in mine and thought it would be handy to have my most used shotguns and FAC Rapid in a separate cabinet. This one is going to be sited downstairs, easier to get my guns out. Now the new one is a 6 gun cabinet and a bit heavier than the normal 3 or 4 gun units and whilst carrying it through the house to the place it is to be sited......................................................my back went CLICK. I am not even able to get my bloody pants on without help, I have a clay shooting competition on to
  14. Seeing is believing Mitch but I don't believe what I have just seen................................................DAYSTATE........................................Mitch.....................................Noooooooooo
  15. Good luck with it David, let us know the outcome. Phil
  16. I am really impressed with them Mark and the weight advantage suits me well. Phil
  17. Welcome aboard Richard. So you fancy one of these Must admit they are nice although now I have a Rapid, I can see myself getting another but not forgetting the Wildcat and sell the above. Phil
  18. I have to say again that I sometimes use a Swift Stumpy mod on my TX200HC when in the back garden and it DOES make a difference. I totally agree you cannot reduce the action noise but I swear that it helps. Just over my garden wall are horses which have got used to me shooting and do still jump a little at first when shooting the TX with a mod fitted but if I use it without the mod.................they are off on a gallop to the other side of the field. My dear wife has also said on occasions that the gun sounds loud and it is ALWAYS when I don't have the mod fitted. I am not sayin
  19. I bought Nath's F1 Chrony because I was not too sure on SOME of the readings I got from the combro. Now in truth I have not got round to running the pair in tandem to establish any changes and will do so using FPS then convert to FPE. As stated that there are some differences between inside and out showing on the Combro, I will make a point to do a new set of readings on the guns when time allows. One point you mentioned was that you have fitted a shroud, as a matter of interest, have you tried removing the shroud, replace the mod and test again just in case you are getting an is
  20. ''is it not better to let some one take over that is known to them as some one else that is not'' 100% spot on Jimmy Phil
  21. It does not apply to me as I have daughters who would never shoot anything that lives and my son lives in Bristol. It is a wonderful thing if a shoot could be passed on and in Ethan's case, he stands a fair chance of retaining the perms because he is known to shoot them now but I think you will have to keep pushing him in front of the land owners Jimmy in order for him to have a profile on the perm with the land owner despite that he is your grandson. Phil
  22. 'A blind man ' hmmmmmm, I'll get the sat nav out Jimmy, might be ideal for my untold talents Only joking mate. Phil
  23. When my son was his age 40 years ago I bought a Diana break barrel, no idea what model it was but low power and he was able to cock it. Now by today's standard and range of guns available it was not great BUT he had sooooo much pleasure with that little gun, cheap as chips and we used to shoot in the cellar of that house where we built a range, only 30' but pure fun and that to me is how you get a kid started..............................I know, times have changed, oh well that how it worked for us back in the day. Phil
  24. When I went to Charlie's place last week to tune my TX, I had a hold of the Brocock pictured here, very very nice. It is longer than I am used to but spot on balance in the shoulder. It is a pity they didn't make a bigger magazine for them. Phil
