  1. If it is that new, just phone BSA technical department or send them an email but why do you want to know. https://bsaguns.co.uk/ Phil
  2. I had a couple of hours spare today so I decided to go to one of our squirrel perms and fill up the feeders ready for a session tomorrow or Friday. The feeders are sited in a long disused quarry that is full of trees with ivy growing both up them and covering the entire ground. As the temperature at ground level was around -1.5 degrees, the lower level in the quarry is around 5 degrees colder and my bloody feet were like blocks of ice after only being in there for about 40mins so clearly I had to get some new boots which would also be well suited for my winter pike fishing. A trip into Sc
  3. Good to see you back on Mark. I actually thought it would be a good idea to hang on to the tripod stick as you could use it as a back rest in the hide Take care old boy......................oh hell I am older than you...................oh well you get the picture. Phil
  4. As we have not heard from Mark for some time now, I sent him a New Year greeting and to see how he was, well all is not well as our Mark has had a very serious stroke which has left him very ill. Mark's wife, Kath, very kindly responded for Mark and rather than me trying to cover Mark's condition, I will post Kath's reply to me so you all know how he is. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Kath's reply to me :- Hi Phil, This is Kath Marks wife, Mar
  5. You and the little one are very welcome Jimmy and Mitch you can go forth and multiply........................... Phil
  6. I do believe many types of fish can tolerate salinity changes and fish such as mullet are found in the freshwater side of a sea loch locally and pike roach etc are found on the sea side of the loch and seem to survive well enough. A few years ago whilst pumping black lugworm on a Lincolnshire beach, my daughter found a baby pike in one of the pools left behing by the ebbing tide which must have come out from a drainage loch a couple of miles further over. This little fella was only 6 or 7 inches long and seemed fine, I had no option nut to leave it in the sea water as we were busy getting ba

  8. Very similar to the CARM mags which are sprung loaded and very good too. Phil
  9. This guy posted 13 years later in October 23 so perhaps my eyes are okay and you need a trip to the optician Jimmy and I thought I was an old tart................. Phil
  10. Have you checked with the 'Shooting Clubs Directory' as they list all the clubs giving details and contact info. Just select the region and start the search. Home WWW.SHOOTINGCLUBDIRECTORY.COM The Shooting Club Directory is produced by Future Publishing Limited to provide a useful resource for all shooters, particularly newcomers who want to start... Phil
  11. Hi Martye, it seems to happen to some of the older AA guns, I had a 200 which would do it every now and then but of course never when it didn't matter. I was told there was nothing you could do with it and as I am not good at techy stuff with air guns so I moved it on to the rfd I bought it from. There is a guy on 'Airgun forum' who is a whizzo with AA guns but there are some very clever guys on here who may be able to give you the info to sort it, good luck with it. Phil
  12. Phone Hull Cartridge and ask who their dealers are in your area, assuming it is out of warrenty, ask them if any of their dealers could do the work for you. There will be a dealer or two that has enough gunsmithing capability to sort out the issue although I am pretty sure it will be a seal but as I don't know your area, I cannot tell you who to contact. Phil
  13. Just arrived at the lodge in Suffolk and to my surprise, a birthday cake and bottle of wine was waiting in the lodge ready for New Years day, 72......... ooooer.
  14. See if your current land owner can give you any contacts for you to try. Phil
  15. We found that strawberry jam gave the best results no matter where we used it. Phil
  16. Just got this last night. Phil Lead ban consultation now has rifle ammo in its sights Felix Petit December 27, 2023 Shooting organisations have reacted with fury as HSE seeks to reduce the transition period and include rifle ammunition for live quarry. The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) has closed its 60-day public consultation on the socioeconomic effects of a ban on lead ammunition. The consultation includes questions on the banning of lead rifle ammunition and moo
  17. Looks that way Mitch but only because there is no replacement product that can be used.
  18. This came through on email to me this evening so I post it for you to read. 19. 50 years ago at the age of 13................................................well it's Xmas so I will let that one slip by.
  20. SMK whilst not on my radar do offer some cheap but underated pcp guns that I know have proved good little guns for juniors, one in particular is around £200 new so not to much of a stretch. My buddy bought one of their pcp pistols which is superb, Wortth a look. Phil
  21. Well it's that time of the year again chaps, all the jobs, shopping and presents are all sorted, even the cars are washed and look spic and span. We are off to Suffolk again for the New Year, clay shooting, lure fishing along with a few gins and we will be having a very good time. I will take this opportunity to wish you all a very Merry Xmas and a Happy New year. Festive regards Phil
  22. I have a pond of Koi ranging from around 7'' to 20'' and of course they live in a filtered freshwater environment however I add salt over winter to the pond which helps the fish stay healthy at a time when they are at their weakest with no ill effect to the fish sooooooo perhaps we under estimate what tolerances fish have with fresh to brackish to salt water. We get mullet passing through lock gates into fresh water and pike going the other way. I am not saying thoses fish stay in the new conditions but it may well be the case that the fish are able to live in brackish conditions with little
  23. Thanks Daniel but I have got my rods and whilst I have a couple of Wychwood rods, they are not on my hit list as I am not impressed in fact I have given several away. You think the Sonik Extractor are of a poor quality and that was my thoughts as well but there are quite a number of guys in my syndicate who bought them as 'spare rods' but now use them as their main rods and there are no carp under 20lb in our lake now so these rods have done the job they were bought for including a cat at almost 40lb. As said, these will ease me back into carping and then it will be a case of buy two Free Spi
  24. Thanks Lee, I saw this video and the 12' tests the lads did and without doubt the Insurgent was at the top of my list however the 12' is available but thr retractable 10' is out of stock everywhere within an hours drive from me and for me, I wanted to get hold and actually get a feel for the rods but even then very few and far between because they have discontinued them along with the Extractor range. The new Extractor Pro is taking over from the standard rod which is why there are some cheap prices out there. As I am getting back into carp fishing and the fact that I cannot afford my al
  25. I agree to a point Jimmy but found the very heavy knurled eye piece focus ring caused some issues when using NiteSite units to the point that it was possible to cause damage to the eye section of the scope, not too common but it happened. Not much of a problem nowadays with NiteSite out of business.
