  1. Awww, she is beautiful..how big is she? There is a litter just come onto Epupz this morning..i thought hurrah...then realised they are in Devon! There is a litter of BeddyxWhippet with Grey in them in Newcastle..guy seems really decent..willing to come half way..these pups unfortunately are going to be quite a bit larger than i am looking for.Have PMd you with these ads.
  2. Someone sent me this pic of a first cross Beddy x Whippet.. I am looking for one too..i just cant find one for love nor money!
  3. My PRT only hunts rabbits above ground, the second they shoot down a hole and she has missed them she will move onto the next one above ground. My old boy was the same, never ever went to ground after rabbits.
  4. Totally agree....i HATE gulls..we get silly blighters bringin them in off the beach for us to sort their broken wings etc... And dont get me started on the t***s that feed them....AAGGHRRRRR!
  5. We've had Scottish notes refused down south..i just take my business elsewhere..yet oddly when the English come over the Border we dont refuse their money???!
  6. I love walks like that..makes you happy to be alive type walks! I stood and watched 2 Fox cubs playing on the golf couse the other night, lovely to see, they were totally engrossed in their game, the mother obviously sensed me close by and a quick bark from her and they disappeared. Glad you had a good walk.
  7. I would go by what it says on the agreement that you have with them. M&S are ok insurance, but getting them to pay out sometimes can be problem. I have had several cases where they have taken their time to pay up.
  8. Aahhh, thanks, found the ad..pups are in Norwich..
  9. Apparently there was a litter of Bedlington/Whippet pups? Can anyone help?
  10. Aargghhhrr..tried to get last Wednesdays paper..but none left in Asda/Tesco or the papershop..i dont suppose you still have a copy do you? Where was the litter?
  11. She is out of Lanspar lines. Only the one on the right is our dog..the large bitch.
  12. I carry Piriton and Pednisilone (steroids) with me now as one of the Vizslas was stung in the roof of her mouth, everything began to swell and luckily i was about 10 mins from the surgery..i was having to drive with my fingers down her throat to keep her airways open as the swelling was that rapid..scary stuff. Hope your dogs are ok..bloody stinging things!
  13. I havent seen a Beddy x whippet up here at all, i read about them a while back and have been looking on the net etc, we met a Whippet x something the other night, he was lovely and my dogs had a great time with him. I only use the PRT on rabbits, the Border is hopeless and would rather sleep in the sun than do much else..she's owned by my daughter, so it works well! My other two terrier x are getting on a bit now. I've noticed quite a few Beddy x on Epupz..but typically they all seem to be at the other end of the country! I like PRTs, the only reservation i have with crossing them with the Whi
  14. Thanks for that, i really appreciate it. I guess the reason i was considering this x is that i know both the stud dog and the bitch, she isnt even in season yet, but i was given the option of pick of the litter should there be pups. My concern is that i dont think the pups will maybe have a rough coat. The father of the pups is used for beating and the mother is a racing/show whippet. Its all pie in the sky right now as the mating may not take..i'm under no obligation to take a pup, i just wondered if anyone had first hand experience of the mix. I would love a Bedlington x Whippet, but they se
  15. I'm looking for a small sized lurcher type that will be primarily a pet, but can hopefully work rabbits with my pure bred PRT, when required. I was only asking what this cross may look like not the rights and wrongs on other peoples' opinions! Thanks anyway!
  16. I have got the possible chance of a PRT x Whippet..the PRT is broken coated and the Whipet is a fawn/white..does anyone know what these pups will look like? Both parents are pure bred. What sort of size would they be? Does anyone already own a similiar cross?
  17. Some pics of our Wire on a recent Grouse count.
  18. These brambles are hellova sharp this time of year!! The Vet will pop a stain in her eyes to show up any scratches/abrasions on the cornea, this 'dye' will 'stick' to the ulcers and the rest of the dye naturally drains down the nose, she will probably need some pain relief in the form of Metacam or Rimadyl and Fucithalmic to put in the eyes, in addition to this he may give you drops to dilate the eyes (if the pupils go very small there is a risk of Uveitis and permanent damage) and oral antibiotics. My PRT has had thorn tips broken off in her eyes so many times, they tend to heal pretty q
  19. Get some tea bags, let them soak in tepid cooled boiled water for a while then drip them over her eyes, you will have to wash out her eyes to get rid of some of the sand. Its possible that the sand may scratch her corneas, so watch out for small ulcers on her eyes. It would be good if you had either some Viscotears (you can get these in any chemist) or Fucithalmic an all purpose cream/ointment for animals eyes. I would just keep rinsing her eyes, try not to let her rub her face/eyes along the carpet/kennel floor as she will cause more damage. Am sure she will be fine after the sand starts comi
  20. Fuciderm works well, but apply any corticosteroid cream with care as it can thin the skin with long term use..also wear gloves as its possible to take some of it in via your own skin.
  21. Is this for a dog, if i'm remembering right, Norocillin is for sheep/cows etc? The doseage would be: 10 mg/kg bodyweight (1 ml/30 kg) daily for three to five days, i think it has to be delivered deep into the muscle, sub-cut wouldnt be the way to go.
  22. My understanding of the whole allergy thing is that its possible for them to develop an allergy to anything that they have had reasonable contact with. My friend's PRT did well on a raw diet, but then 11m into it he began biting and licking his legs/feet..they tried EVERYTHING and couldnt come up with the stimulus that caused the biting/chewing of his own flesh. My friend broke her ankle and was in hospital having it pinned, Jet ended up in the kennels where he was fed a dried kibble..result..all the biting/chewing stopped. We wondered if he had developed some weird allergy to the raw food alt
  23. PRT is out of Hoelio and Mindlen lines, she is 14" and weighs about 8kg..muscled as anything, the big lad was a rescue, and is almost 17" and weighs 12kg...he's coming up for 10y old now and apart from his back injury is as fit as a fiddle, he walks 6 odd miles most days.
  24. I think if the pup is brought up with kids who understand how to behave around dogs it shoould be fine. Caution should aways been applied with any breed. My kids have been brought up with Russells, Border, Lakie x..never had a problem..there have to be rules and understanding from both sides.
  25. Animals are more prone to allergies as they get older, simply due to the fact they have been around longer to be in contact with them. Skins are always a nightmare to get to the bottom of, as so many things can affect them and cause itchiness/hair loss..i've seen dogs allergic to dust mites, airborne sprays etc. Food is usually the first thing to try..but finding a food that they have never had any contact with can be very difficult. Allergy foods are available on the pet market now but are still very expensive (about £58 for a 15kg bag of RC Sensitivity..this contains capelin and tapioca). J
