    Decided on a little run out as the wind was getting up. Five minute walk to first field , dog is not happy , bit of a shiver on , cold wind. Into the field, one too close to the hedge and leave it alone. Next field one hops in just as we switch the lamp on. Get the feeling it's going to be one of those nights. Through the crappiest gateway to the edge of the next field, one sat out. Hiss away and it's on, turns it once, back towards the hedge and she goes to strike as it hits.     My old saluki cross was a complete arse. He was good at the job but a fecker for other dogs. When looking for a pup this time around I was wary but the one I have from Fuji which has a good proportion of Saluki from Boots is a cracker. Sensitive but very trainable and a pleasure to have around. 9 and a half months old and lives to hunt already. I would certainly not be put off saluki blood in the future nad these are exceptional pups, full credit to you .

    Couldnt resist this wind so thought time for the pups Fourth night out . Main two fields local were full of sheep and despite me being 100% she is broken I didnt want any fuss with them being right by the farmers house . Decided on another route and off we went . Into first field and one out but before we could get near it was across and onto the house law so time to leave that alone . Onto the next two fields and empty then spot one in the middle of next field . Get downwind and walk up and it flattens out . Socks winds it and I let her go , it gets up and she is upping the gears . Another

    She is from Fuji off here Boots x Fenn, there is a thread on the pups. Saluki Grey, with a little wheaton and some old fashioned blood in her. just scraping 25 inch and has been that way for 2 months.

    Decide last minute there was enough wind so ten mins walk finds us in the first field closest to home . Dog is keen knows what is going to happen and over the fence and waits for the slip to go on. Quick scan , two very close who hop back to the hedge . One in the middle about sixty yards away and a couple over the other side 250 yds away. Spot one of the sixty yard ones , get fully downwind and start a slow walk up. Socks picks up the scent and starts to pull . Quick flash over and it's 20 yds and squatting in the longer grass. Lamp off and walk another ten and flick back on. Still squatting

    Socks is 5months old now, a pleasure to have around though she does believe she owns the place. Has the odd deaf moment on recall when her nose or her legs distract her but other than that spot on. Courses the terrier and strikes like a cobra, Hopefully get the odd run with her next season ready for the year after.
