Stretching The Range ? Hw 100`s.
Gary73 replied to mark williams's topic in Rifle Reviews, Technical Help and Tips
My Hw100kt .22 on the left with Faps (5.52). R10 Super carbine .177 with JSB exact heavies (4.52) on the right. Both on cleaned barrels after 50 to lead up. 30 yards benched indoors circle is a 5p. That's about the best I can do but generally hold the group out to 45 yards and then it increases by about 1/8" at 50 yards. I prefer the feel of the R10 but the Hw100 group took half the time of the R10's its a flat out shooter. To think the same Hw100kt when new was terrible with faps and spat the odd flyer, same pellets 12 months later and it loves them maybe the barrel has seaso -
True, I only fill to 200bar as I reckon on shots from that with less stress on the rifle etc. More than enough from a 200cc Buddy bottle to chase the vermin.

Stretching The Range ? Hw 100`s.
Gary73 replied to mark williams's topic in Rifle Reviews, Technical Help and Tips
From my own testing I can only conclude that head size is not the factor but the actual batch itself. I have had good 5.51 tins and bad the same with 5.52 and H&N FTT in supposedly bigger head sizes. I have some 4.52 Jsb exacts that flat out shoot in all my .177 rifles, 1/2" or less at 55 yards. I also have some AA fields in 4.51 that are 50 yard max pellets. It just seems for me a good batch regardless of head size work in all my rifles and a bad one is bad in all. Shame I only have 3 tins of my best 4.52 exacts left. -
Took the reg apart and cleaned it out really well and tightened everything up.. Results are better certainly good enough until it goes for its x-tune. Jsb exact heavys in fps straight from the tin. I am sure if I weighed then it would likely be single figures. 20 shots 180bar 706 702 712***** 710 707 705 708 701 703 712***** 701 708 706 700***** 710 710 703 705 706 707 12fps total spread and +/- 6fps 706fps avg 11.45avg 11.25min 11.64 max. Take out the 712's and 700 10fps spread and +/- 5fps Seems more stable and I doubt I would see much between 700fps and

How consistent do you think my R10 should be? Rifle BSA R10 .177 Super carbine 6 weeks old but put a huma reg straight in. JSB Heavy pellets straight from the tin 10.34gr. BSA reg out Huma in with no power adjustment needed. x10 shots in fps Huma Reg 712 711 706 708 698* 713* 703 712 700 708 BSA Reg 710* 706 704* 707 708 710* 710* 710* 709 708 Any idea why the BSA reg if far more consistent. Both tested at 160bar and the same results have shown when the same test has been conducted 6 times.

Falcon Accuracy Plus Bc In .22 Hw100Kt Accuracy
Gary73 replied to Gary73's topic in Rifle Reviews, Technical Help and Tips
Sorry my mistake 0.036bc. I will try it at 40 yards and see what happens. -
After initially trying Fap's in .22 through my hw100kt I kept getting the odd flyer so moved on to JSB jumbo exacts in 5.52. Roll on 12'ish months later and boredom got the better of me so tried them again. This time they were spot on so cleaned the barrel and they are still on the money, so adjusted power up 10fps so they are doing low 618fps and 625fps max avg being 622fps. I then put my chrono 18.5 yards away and did a 10 shot string 7fps spread again with the average being 584fps. So at distance 0 yards being 622fps avg and 584fps avg at 18.5 yards the bc calculator is sho

Jsb Exact Express/jsb Exact Rs .22
Gary73 replied to Gary73's topic in Rifle Reviews, Technical Help and Tips
I cant remember now, I would just use some silicone grease. This would do or similar. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/like/200918149715?adgroupid=13585920426&hlpht=true&hlpv=2&rlsatarget=kwd-131843282946&adtype=pla&ff3=1&lpid=122&poi=&ul_noapp=true&limghlpsr=true&device=c&chn=ps&campaignid=207297426&crdt=0&ff12=67&ff11=ICEP3.0.0-L&ff14=122&viphx=1&ops=true&ff13= -

Jsb Exact Express/jsb Exact Rs .22
Gary73 replied to Gary73's topic in Rifle Reviews, Technical Help and Tips
I thought of that and took the o-rings off both mags and put some waterproof silicone grease on the o-rings. I also tried lubed and unlubed with napier. Nothing stopped the flyers other than reducing skirt size. I think the fragility of the skirt and the choke interaction is the issue. All barrels being different and chokes varing could be the key. My rifle prefers real 5.51 and smaller head size's and medium stiff to stiff skirts. Jsb jumbo exacts in 5.52 seem to measure under 5.51 head size in real terms and the skirts are more substantial than Falcons and AA fields. RWS have ski -
Jsb Exact Express/jsb Exact Rs .22
Gary73 replied to Gary73's topic in Rifle Reviews, Technical Help and Tips
Yes I vfg'd the barrel until it was clean I then put x3 mags straight into a backstop. I then started to zero which was about one mag. So I started to group test after about 56 shots. It looked very good until the flyers started every 5 or 6th shot. I then left it over night as sometimes you can be having a bad day. Shot number 1 the next day missed by 2 inches and when the pellet struck the crosshairs were still on the bull. This was off a bipod rested. I reckon I used about 250 pellets in total to test. I then cleaned the barrel and tried Jumbo exacts and no flyers and straight on form a -
Jsb Exact Express/jsb Exact Rs .22
Gary73 replied to Gary73's topic in Rifle Reviews, Technical Help and Tips
Gave the falcons a try but they are no good in my rifle. At 30 yards they will put in a excellent group but every 5th or 6th shot will fly off 2 inches. I sized some down to a uniform 5.51 and the flyers went but who wants to be sizing all your pellets. No match for Jsb jumbo exacts or AA fields. Even Rws super-h-points could group better at 30 yards as did Rws superfields. One thing I did notice with the falcons was the poor quality they are a fragile pellet that seems to be easily damaged in all the the best environments. I have x4 tins so will size them all down just to use them up and -
Jsb Exact Express/jsb Exact Rs .22
Gary73 replied to Gary73's topic in Rifle Reviews, Technical Help and Tips
I might send my 4 tins back to H&N they have really gone bad. I have an old tin that groups excellent but trying the new tins and they are all over the place 1" groups at 20 yards vs JSB jumbo exacts and AA fields which are basically going through a pellet size hole. -

Jsb Exact Express/jsb Exact Rs .22
Gary73 replied to Gary73's topic in Rifle Reviews, Technical Help and Tips
Maybe the Exact express 14.4gr is a better compromise between 15.9gr Jumbo's and the RS version at 13.4gr. -
My HW100kt .22 was excellent with H&N FTT 5.53 but the last batch is terrible. Cleaned the barrel etc and still no good. Tried some JSB Jumbo Exacts 5.52 and AA fields 5.51 which were both excellent. Is there any real benefit in using the Express or RS do they really fly flatter but suffer from wind direction more. Anyone tried them in a hw100 .22 and found one better than the other.

Ask them to donate it to the charity of their choice.

I don't normally have to bother them but every now and again they seem to group up and lay siege for a few weeks. Sometimes you have to break the stalemate.

It's a hawke panorama 4-12x40 it was the first time I had the camera on and it was not quite right. It had to much mag and the camera position in relation to ret was out. I have it much better now. It was one of this years birds, every April to May they cause no end of trouble but normally by just taking one out in front of the others they don't come back and leave the local birds alone. That day 8 magpies all came in at the same time and caused mayhem. The pellet hit in the corner of the eye and came out of the back of the skull. It took it straight of its feet and it died on the sp

Earlier in the year after some issues with a huge amount of magpies hammering the blackbirds in the hedges I decided to even the score. Playing around with a camera and my s410k .177 with Jsb 4.52 exacts at 20 yards. I normally dont bother unless they are really hammering the locals but decided it was time to level the playing field. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lzGImWxY868&feature=youtu.be Amazing what a 780fps Jsb can do. I could of popped the one on the feeder but thats not cricket so took the one with the catalogue backstop which if you watch closely catches the pellet.

Not good VM it's even worse when you cover the six P's and it still goes wrong you need a back up plan as well.
