  3. why not use Norton? Quite a few reasons but namely why pay for something when you can get the same or better protection for free? Other reasons are the amount of resources that Norton (And McAfee use - McAfee is the bigger offender in this regards). BTW resources = 'The amount of RAM memory being used at anyone time'. It is the major reason behind windows crashing or freezing, especially so if you also use Internet explorer and/or any other resource heavy program; i.e. Video editor, Photoshop, Audio editing, all of these are heavy resource users so the more memory you can give them the bet

Hi Ditch - Ok looking over what you have posted first you need to give your machine a bit of a clean. get your self a can of 'Air' - no I'm not jking - this is a pressurized can of air used by computer technicians - there similar to a paint spray can. places like Maplins ell them. On the side of your notebook/laptop you will the vents - just give them a good blast from your air spray. that will clear the dust and muck from your processor. 'DON'T!!! what ever you do go opening it up - If it needs a more thorough clean take it to a shop. I assure you this is not a job for the novice!! (No o
