Sounds like you've got caught in a vicious circle with it all...... Get them to change you off the Novorapid, then you'll find that the lightheaded feeling stops. You'll not get such sudden low blood sugars either which will re-boost your confidence in getting out and about again, which will help the weight come off so you can get shot of the other pills...... And don't think of diabetes as an 'illness' or a 'handicap' - once you get it sorted its a nuisance, but its perfectly livable with without it messing your life up. Good luck with it all, and keep onto them to change you

I meant to ask about Novorapid - its vicious! They changed me to it and it was absolutely brutal - I put myself back on what I was taking before. A friends son was changed to that one and she got him back off it too. Novorapid also has a warning (in very small print) that it can cause light-headedness etc. Gave me full-blown palpitations, increased heart rate etc - get them to get you off it for something else quick! Can't see why going on insulin would cause weight gain, and once the doctors start giving you pills for this, that and the other your system ends up in right scramble..

Hi countrymaid - I've been diabetic the last 40+ years......sort of came to a negotiated compromise with it! Different people are on different set-ups for controlling it and I'm not what the doctors would call a 'good' diabetic but I'm healthy and active and have always got on with my life. Have you got any control over what insulin dosage you are on as if you keep going hypo it sounds like you're on more than you need considering you're an active person? The blood testing is a bit of a hassle, but its also the very best tool you've got for keeping track of things A few things

Yes, both hands were getting really painful, and I refused to ease up working (gardening and finishing off house-building at my place). End result: No choice but off work, down to 60% hand use for a year or so, couldn't work 'cos they hurt like **** and wouldn't bend.....couldn't even do basic things like tie boot-laces or turn door-knobs...... Really scary as I didn't know whether I'd get the use of them back, fortunately they were ok again after a couple years. Worst of it was I couldn't even hold a cup of tea first thing in the morning! You really do need to take time off before the

Sorry - I looked at Rolfe's photos too quick and they looked like one of those grassy miscanthus things.....I think I'm due for a new pair of glasses.....

Err, looks like two different plants getting called by the same name....... Wikipedia: Rapeseed / Oil-seed Rape
-
Does it look more like this..... Oil-seed Rape
-
Err, thats not Rape - looks like one of those grassy bio-fuel ones...

Can you mark the photos 1 2 3 or A B C or something as you post them or I'll make a right muddle with which name goes with which photo ....
-
Fire away with photos and I'll try and give you IDs.......it might give you more ammo with the conservation crowd if you can say theres this that and the other growing there......... Good luck - the whole world is gonna end up covered in concrete and roads and houses the rate things are going.....

Hi tallyho - it looks like Yellow Corydalis - a garden escaper that'll often grow in cracks in walls

Yes. I'd be one of those 'fence-sitters' and thats the reason I joined, to get a better idea of the pro/anti argument....... There are plenty go out round here with guns and dogs, most of them are sound, but some are twats like the eejits who were firing shots across the garden where I lived when my kids were growing up........ Yes.

Hi Tallyho - its a violet, but I can't be sure from the photo which one as Common Dog-violet, Early Dog-violet and Sweet Violet are all in flower at the moment - great to see again after the winter! Early Dog-violet Common Dog-violet -
hope not - my camera is still in pretty good nick!

Like the description Comanche - could be a Mark 1 Fiesta trying to get through the portal It might look clever but its pretty simple to do, copy and paste, flip original image horizontally and paste, then flip vertically and paste etc. The patterns in the centre can be amazing, all sorts of strange things show up. And that was a great photo to play around with

Hi comanche - thats a stunning pattern......and then the vikings had another mushroom break.....

" I Went Out For A Paper; Told Her I'd Be Back By Noon. "
gardener replied to a topic in General Talk
Just to put a balance on the quote above its sort of more 'accepted' thats its guys that head off and leave partner and kids behind, but its not always that way round.... I left husband and kids 12 years ago, not for anyone else, but because I couldn't do the supportive little wifey number anymore...it felt like it was time to go or crack up if I didn't. Selfish, probably yes, but honest. I'd grown up with parents who were at each other all the time and wasn't prepared to do that to my kids. Preferred to be honest and go rather than pretend everything was fine. And I've never seen it as 'l -

A friend of mine (English) did that to his girlfriend, and couldn't figure out why he got the contents of the kitchen thrown over him when he wandered back in again a year later........ -
And two different ways of going about it depending whether you really do want to do a bit 'educating' or just want to wind the 'antis' up further ...... If all you're gonna do is f* people off you make it a lot harder for people there who do support field sports to get their point listened to......
