  1. That's why I say when a dog is looking to enter only let em and if they are not keen hold em until ready
  2. A terrier not wanting to go to ground 19 time I can see people having patients but a terrier going and failing 19 times I would find extremely difficult to keep.
  3. True it's finding a happy medium Shane. Alot can be said for holding on and coming good with a terrier but also the same for spotting a joker and wasting time. It's 2 to 1 and half a dozen with the other.
  4. AHH come on would you give a terrier 20 times to ground before you call it a failure experience also can show that can be an awfully waste a time and that time can be put into other terriers showing more sign.
  5. That person has some patients I'm not for one second saying your lying but that's like winning the lotto. I'm glad it worked out but a cat with nine lives would have not got that. So dogman just curious was she on quarry 19 times and failed and then clicked after that
  6. Always brought a pup along on a dig can't see the harm , as soon as I see it making a drive for the entrance I will try it the next outing. Often works and on the issue of a dog jacking if you happen to have another terrier on a dig which we always do ,and the dog jack's and you dig the same quarry with another terrier no excuses should be made but each to there own some will put up with it some wont
  7. Spot on R.H. also if I gifted out a pup it would be in the best interest of the line for future benefit. If such a person wasn't interested in respecting that they would not get a pup full stop. They could opt to buy of Peds if they want.
  8. Work sheep all week and believe me only for I love the game it is a hard/physical things to stay at on top of a physical job. Some ground can be a night mare and each time you meet a root when shoveling it can drain you so much you feel like Keeling over but you do get there eventually. It's always handy to have someone to give you a hand but it's not always the case. It's tuff going but I wouldn't change it .
  9. Not a fox left in the parish of bgarry ha....
  10. Bullshit Str that does not mean the quieter terrierman has any less of a terrier for me Marshmans Da is the true terrierman not the guy who feel the need to push the front so his terriers has to be recognised why is there a need for such thing. If a terrierman is doing right by himself who gives a f**k about fame. Dig over your dog and praise them not look to be praised yourself. Otherwise money comes into it and we all know what road that leads too eventually .
  11. Lads and lassies start em young and they'll adapt. Long live the sport.
  12. The one who does not sell a pup to any young fella and fill him with lies about it's breeding just to get a a few quid.
  13. I've seen the gfather work some and I ain't an old boy. After he died the uncle got hands on em and just sold em for fxxking money but anyway I have seen em to ground and can remember them always been solid it would have took some stuff ta move em but they where not let into small tight places so ta speak.
  14. That's the plan FD I'm hopeful it may come good enough not to amputate anyway the cast is of since last night. Just have to give a few days now and hope he starts to put weight on it and when he does that it does not dislocate again and if so it will be amputated from the knuckle joint down. He might not have ever even made the grade but they deserve the chance to see what they are made of at least.
  15. It is the back leg alright just the knuckle up from the paw and I see both sides of it how it should be fine and how it can get him into bother maybe in tight spots. I've moved clay over him once already before the accident so I think maybe I'll give him a chance before bitten the bullet and maybe his leg will come good anyway please god, but I'll see how he gets on good or bad next season maybe pick holes not so deep and I'll let lads know incase they encounter the same situation . Thanks for the replies
  16. An odd question but I have a 18 MTH old terrier that got a bit high strung amongst cattle and ended up with 2 fractures and a dislocation. The vet has done his best to patch it up but if its not such good news when cast is off and won't come right which is a 50/50 chance I have a decision to make which is lying on my head for weeks now . There is the option of amputation. One day I'm thinking it surely can't work with just 3 legs and the other day I wonder. So if anyone has worked a 3 legged terrier TO GROUND it would be interesting to know.
  17. It's like saying so you prefer black or white let's see how this devlopes
  18. It's the very same as saying an Irish man don't drink. He is telling you lies but also telling lies to himself
