  2. i have indoor dogs and two rough grandsons. the dogs that where raised with the kids are bombproof. but never leave dogs alone with young children autistic or not. safety gates and a crate are great an escape route for dog and child with care your kids should be able to have all the benifits of a family dog. research the precautions you need to put in place and the best breeds that would suite your young uns and yourself. my friend has two autistic children . and two golden retreivers . works for them.
  3. i think the key is to have dogs with a good nose and desire. voice and stamina would also come from beagle. js
  4. checked your page. nice work. now what would consider a good type for general use.for a left handed old fogeyif your not an experienced shooter forget plywood catty,s, they will fall to bits after 2/3 fork hits, they may look the bollacks but don't last, sorry to nick if that's his business but in my experience, ply catty,s are great for those making them but not for people buying, a proshot bloodshot is £25 made from solid ally and will last a lifetime, fires flats or tubes, left or right handed and in any grip you like and in my opinion is the best starter catty out there, i feel a bit bad fo

  8. well you guys must work different ground or foxes than me. i like a strong terrier to be honest but a good little un gets the job done better for me. ive spent this season starting a stronger terrier . and for fox below ground it makes a simple job a difficult and long drawn out affair. this is just my experience maybe the area i work them
  9. they aint that expensive. we just built a helipad for a local farmer.
  10. your best bet is to have a well behaved dog along that works well with ferrets. obviously you need to restrain the dog but allow it to watch and learn for a few outings. dissapline the dog everytime it tries to misbehave. slow and steady. also letting the dog burn off steam before training is exellent advice.
  11. great to see a youngster growing into a worker isnt it
  12. never made anything special some came 25tts and a little bitch never made the 20 inch. most came to heavy to be honest . they where spread around the country to working homes . but nothing shined. the little bitch was the best prospect but was killed on the rd. would of liked to of seen a second cross. but wasnt to be.
  13. Like rocking horse shit to get a tested working one though that cant be true. look at all the wheaten crosses that are about. . to be honest. a first cross over a whippet would be a better prospect. i bred a litter of fell / greyhounds back in the day and in hindsight i should of used my beddy/whippet. hard as nails and would work below in some style . but i was young and trying to reinvent the wheel
  14. a wheaten is the way to go lads if you want hardy little lurchers.
  15. yes . she is a quarter wheaten.
  16. Darcey is just over 8 months now and doing fine. started using her nose and marking. goes deaf now and then but apart from that . she is a very easy dog to manage
  17. reading between the lines i reckon this post is spot on. my answer is if the shit hit the fan i would definately sit back and have a good laugh and wouldnt lift a finger to help. but i'm sure the shooters would be there in droves.
  18. i wear a tammy or flat cap most of the year round. wouldnt trust anyone that dont wear something on their head . espesially if they spend a lot of time outdoors.
