seems plummers cant win. they die if they do and die if they dont, cracking post and some fine dogs.

patts are a relatively new breed/type. they are very variable in type. throwing rough/smooth coats. strong or snipey heads long or short legs. often in the same litters. some lines kept for work first will only be maybe three or four generations from the early strains . despite care being taken to breed type. there will be throwbacks to russell /bull/ lakie /beddies. both in colour.type and temprement. if i bred the litter and got a white it would be given away as a russell TYPE. as that is what it is. some breed for shows and money they may be more consistent in type and colour

yes there very well may be some other blood way back in the ped. But when you get so many gens back it shouldn't pop up..some call it a old throw back I call it excuses for there line not being true..jmo maybe do a little reading on genetics . white is a reccessive gene and can lay dormant for many generations.

yea still got her . she was used for everything . worked with my old lurcher ozzy. ratting rabbiting ferretting bushing. to guns. the odd fox to ground when needed . semi retired now.

I never take bookings for pups but if a few mates are after them then I breed them and the rest are advertised, the bitches in both litters are going to mates that will be working them, I could of done with more bitches like last year there were 5 bitches in a litter of 6, I will not be breeding anymore pups after these as I have achieved everything I set out to do,consistent workers of good size, shape, constitution breeding true to type and no difference in size between dogs and bitches without any known health issues, this pic shows them as they should be,dog left and bitch right, both with go

had a few dogs off ken up here every one worked to a decent standard. but feck me some of them where ugly feckers. one called grip earned the nickname gripinstien, had english bull screaming out of him with tiny ears and the elbows out ans the course short jacket. strangely enough he was admired by all who seen his ugly mush. sadly he was short lived due to ending up with a retard

well if it works for them. i wont knock it. its just not for me its just a debate not a bitching session. these are the sort of things that should get aired on a forum about running dogs. there are a lot of folk with young pups on this site so its especially relevent. trigger might get his own back yet if i let my young pup loose early. . after all she is already coursing my terriers. good luck in the coming season to all the young guns -
its got wheaten temper thats for sure. max is struggling to keep her in check and she is going to ground already gonna be a handfull this girl

very interested in the replies to this topic. a good well bred lurcher with a promising career ahead of it . and there are so many differing opinions surely a wise man will wait till the animal is fully formed before trying it out. nothing whatsoever to gain and far to much to lose entering a pup . they dont need to be run at that stage to progress. as working dogs plenty to do with a young un , i dont care for the idea that they learn nothing in a kennel as any good owner will be showing them plenty without taxing them. i agree its each to there own with these things and every owner has th
