Black fly mate is what you get on Runner Beans and Broad Bean (Black Army) especially around the flowers. Carrot Fly is just Carrot and you don't usually see them just the holes in the carrots or they all wilt over. Marigolds the French ones are very good for deterring White Fly so I usually put some around the Tomato Plants in the green house. Having said the I have forgot to put some in this year lol, but sill time will have to pinch some off Wifey. Cheers Arry

While I see where you're coming from Wilf. But life was not exactly a bed of roses in the past. I'm in my 70's worked hard manually all my life. As a kid we had f**k all, none of the luxuries of today in comparison coal fire only heating, no double glazing hot water if you could afford to put the emersion on. Sent to the shop to get one razor blade for the old man, borrow a cup of sugar from next door. No car rented black and white TV, sitting in candle light because no money for the meter. Gran still had gas lights no electric and outside loo with news paper hanging on string. I climbed

Only once have I seen Golden Orioles at Whitesands bay in Cornwall. Was about 60 years ago when I was a kid staying in the chalets on the cliff with my family. We watched a pair of them below us on the blackthorn and gorse didn't know what they were for a while as never had a bird book with us and no www then. Cheers Arry

Do it mate get some good mince from a butcher if you can. If you do a roast and make your own gravy save some and use it in the cottage pie makes all the difference mate. Cheers Arry
