  1. Having seen a big rat run from under my bird feeders under the neighbours fence then under her shed. I had about a dozen or so when it was wet cold and snow, but this is the first one i've see signs of in the summer. So i thought i'd put some boxes out two with back to back snap traps and one with a single in. Just after 10.30pm last night thought I would have a quick check, as I walked up the garden path I shone the torch in the direction of the traps and there in the middle of the path is what I thought was a rat. As I got a little closer I could see it was not a rat but a very small hedge

  5. A old chap on the building years ago used to grow massive onions you know show types. Asked him how he did it, he wrote it down for me but that scrap of paper is long gone, but remember him saying sow you seeds on Christmas day he didn't use sets. Wish i'd looked after that info he's gone now bless his heart. The green stuff I over winter is Kale only the black this year, usually grow the curly cut and come again type as well, and Purple Sprouting ( I love that stuff ) all doing quite well considering the dry weather and so easy to grow. 10. I know what you mean, I feel for the ferrets they just want to be out there and so do I if the truth known. My mate and I were talking about taking them for a run out, if we do it will be some ground burrows in the woods, no cover there so you can see them okay. We will travel light and take no nets, just drop them in and let them bolt. On the collar side, I would try and get her used to it mate. One of my ferrets got a habit of slipping out of the burrow a carrying on down the hedge by her self, found her with the finder fifty yards away on more than one occasion. Mind a lot of our grou
