  1. theres an old saying you can't ruin a goodun. I agree with this I have a 7 month old pup here with a couple of rabbits under his belt there is no way I could've kept the game off him until 12 month+ even if I had wanted too. You can't wrap them up in cotton wool and if your getting them out enough learning there field craft when pups they are bound to bump into something. I like a nice steady dog that's sensible around its quarry and starting them young also benifits this. no need to rush them but at the same time all the best dogs I've seen started from an early age. Just my opinion fellas be
  2. I like him real nice litter of pups these but he's a topper best of luck with him.

  4. Hello mate how's the move going ? Yeah deffo just let me know when your ready. Dogs recovering well I hope ? Cheers lads been very pleased with him no trouble whatsoever. Hes lurcher to lurcher bred.

  6. Cheers lads Dan there's plenty more there to go at few nice warrens I left for another time that looks like it's holding a few. This young lads still got a long way to go but he's making all the right moves at the minute. NL he'll be 7 month on the 10th mate.
  7. Had the pup out earlier for abit of ferreting I kept to the warrens wich are normally quick easy bolts so he didn't get too bored done really well grabbed a couple of netted rabbits one quick dig then a rabbit bolted out of an unseen hole i honestly never even expected him to get on to terms as it headed into a load of overgrown saplings. Anyway pups give chase all went quiet and a couple of seconds later he came trotting back with his prize well chuffed was going to finish the day there but he marked a little warren out in the field so give him a quick go and the pup quickly snapped up anothe
  8. ive been around terriers lurchers horses and chickens all my life and I've yet to find the perfect faultless animal. The one thing we should all have in commmon is when we breed we should be looking to produce so something better than either parent it doesn't allways go to plan and part of success is failure. It's what happens to these failures that you see a stockmans true colours. Good reading this topic a lot of thought provoking stuff keep it up lads.
  9. I'm out probably a couple of times a month in the motor can't beat it on big land. I've heard a lot of people say it's easy for the dogs in motor it can be but you can sit back and be just as sporting as if you were walking. Can bring an area on top tho if your too regular there's places I've walked for years with no problems as soon as a motor is seen there on you.
