  1. Nice bitch that lovely feet on it. Here's mine out the litter had a few rabbits now most I've done with him in one go is five and a few retrieved birds just taking it steady and waiting for a good night to get him going properly on the lamp. Well done on the rabbits mate.
  2. We used these too, made them up for a lot of lads when I was a fitter for the local bus company, Lucas square eights..we use to smash the glass out and it made the beam even better, they had a black metal cover over the bulb which used to get bloody hot.. an oldish show pic..a mottly crew.. img005.jpg Really like that dog on the right my sort of lurcher that. I could sit here looking at these old pics allday get some more up lads me old man has some good old pics of his old bitch bambi she filled a few pots in her time but I've no idea how to get them onto here.
  3. I've said it before that pup is a lovely animal some neck and shoulders on him. Best of luck with him tho I'm sure you won't need it.
  4. Reading this makes me glad I get out with the fellers I do. I've never ever sold any lurcher adult or pup world beater or scrap it's just not something I'd do personally. If I'm after a pup it doesn't matter whether it's £30 or £3000 if that's the one that I want that's the one Ill get. In an ideal world we would all like to gift pups to lads we trust but unfortunately getting into dogs is just a phase for most people. I've only bought 4 dogs in my life but I've seen plenty sold. I see with my own eyes someone offered £1000 one night for a bitch I wouldn't have gifted but these same people wou
  5. Oops forgot pic sorry fellers not the best
  6. I was planning on getting a few pics of mine today but didn't go as planned lol. I know what you mean about pulling mines not too bad when he's out with me but he takes the piss when my mrs walks him. Jumps for fun this one here aswell. These ain't going to be a problem to get going if anything they gonna be trouble holding back haha.i think this one would whip up a few on the lamp but it doesn't feel right to me yet so I'll just keep him to the day stuff and tagging along in the motor at night. Never had a lurcher this protective over people and property either Infact it can be annoying at ti
  7. Looking well Tb. Mines 25tts now real pleased with him for a young dog I've just been taking it steady with mine he's had a few rabbits and birds now just out mooching. He's starting to really switch on He's not so fussed about playing about now seems to have abit more focus about him a couple of lads that are on here have seen him out he's in and out of cover really keen. I think you will do well with that bitch of yours TB theres something about her I like.
  8. theres an old saying you can't ruin a goodun. I agree with this I have a 7 month old pup here with a couple of rabbits under his belt there is no way I could've kept the game off him until 12 month+ even if I had wanted too. You can't wrap them up in cotton wool and if your getting them out enough learning there field craft when pups they are bound to bump into something. I like a nice steady dog that's sensible around its quarry and starting them young also benifits this. no need to rush them but at the same time all the best dogs I've seen started from an early age. Just my opinion fellas be
  9. I like him real nice litter of pups these but he's a topper best of luck with him.
  10. Good pics tjones can't beat getting out on the birds.
  11. Hello mate how's the move going ? Yeah deffo just let me know when your ready. Dogs recovering well I hope ? Cheers lads been very pleased with him no trouble whatsoever. Hes lurcher to lurcher bred.
  12. Deffo only seems like last week I made the trip to pick up that fat bridle pup. Time flys when your having fun tho aye. Any recent pics of yours mate ? What's she standing at now ?
  13. Cheers lads Dan there's plenty more there to go at few nice warrens I left for another time that looks like it's holding a few. This young lads still got a long way to go but he's making all the right moves at the minute. NL he'll be 7 month on the 10th mate.
  14. Had the pup out earlier for abit of ferreting I kept to the warrens wich are normally quick easy bolts so he didn't get too bored done really well grabbed a couple of netted rabbits one quick dig then a rabbit bolted out of an unseen hole i honestly never even expected him to get on to terms as it headed into a load of overgrown saplings. Anyway pups give chase all went quiet and a couple of seconds later he came trotting back with his prize well chuffed was going to finish the day there but he marked a little warren out in the field so give him a quick go and the pup quickly snapped up anothe
  15. ive been around terriers lurchers horses and chickens all my life and I've yet to find the perfect faultless animal. The one thing we should all have in commmon is when we breed we should be looking to produce so something better than either parent it doesn't allways go to plan and part of success is failure. It's what happens to these failures that you see a stockmans true colours. Good reading this topic a lot of thought provoking stuff keep it up lads.
  16. I'm out probably a couple of times a month in the motor can't beat it on big land. I've heard a lot of people say it's easy for the dogs in motor it can be but you can sit back and be just as sporting as if you were walking. Can bring an area on top tho if your too regular there's places I've walked for years with no problems as soon as a motor is seen there on you.
  17. She done you proud last night tomo all that hard work paying of was a pleasure to watch her at it infact last couple of trips she's really impressed me keep her at it.
  18. Your a better man than me tb having 2 in the house she is looking real good mate I think she will be a handy size mine 23tts already. Had mine carrying fur dummy today had a couple of short retrieves in the allyway so fingers crossed.

  22. Yes mate to a coursing bitch.
