  1. just wondering what people expect from there dogs first winter what do you like to see and what puts you off ? Do a lot of lads let there dogs do a few bits or generally just keep them catching easy bunnies ? I know all dogs are different but in an ideal world what signs what you like to see from a young dog before it's a year old ?
  2. I ain't complaining lads got meself a good quality knife from rios posting on this page I'm happy to see good craftsmanship anywhere ??
  3. Fair play tb you've done a good job with that pup. I try to jog my dogs 2-4 days a week I use a long bit of canal near me it's handy if they get abit hot quick rest in the water n there ready to roll again wouldn't fancy jogging my lot on a road n they see a cat lol.
  4. I know what your saying tb lovely time of year to chill out and just take in what's going on ive lost count of the amount of times I've headed out on a spring morning n just sat with dogs leashed up watching there mad antics... Out of all the creatures in our countryside the hares and the songbirds have got to be my favourites.
  5. That bottom pics brilliant cocker fair play ?
  6. I've seen some good dogs that are half greyhound i own a dog that's over half greyhound in fact and without sounding boastful any dog with the tally he has would have a real proud owner. Don't get me wrong if I had a decent bitch I wanted a pup or 2 from her i doubt a grey for me would be top of the list but I do feel there abit underrated at times me dads had pures n run them on all sorts not an accident waiting to happen like some think. best of luck with the offspring from this mating?
  7. Had some good fun with a collie lurcher when I was a lot younger and enjoyed some good productive nights with the bull greyhounds,But for what I enjoy wich is daylight running of big rabbits and hard long nights on the lamp on stony arable lurcher with a good bit of saluki without doubt
  8. 100 rats killed in 6 minutes wasn't it ? Something I'd have to se to believe to be honest ?

  11. I got an old dog who does this a handful of times through the season no digging will just stare at a spot in the ground quick check with the locator it's allways spot on good vids trev how's rough one bred looks a lot of terrier n bull In it ?
  12. Vaseline will stop bleeding I've used potassium permanganate for running dogs feet but never for anything else don't get it on your hands though leaves a nasty stain on your skin a mate of mine uses normal flour for his bushers ears though never tried it meself ?
  13. yes mate, they travel so fast and true, they more than make up for the concussion effect of bigger heavier ammo I have just got myself a set of lead moulds to make them from lead in 10mil hopefully that will still travel fast and straight enough with a little more thump, the way you cut Theraband makes a real big difference to what kind of ammo you can use with itI've been using 10mm lead with theraband green does the job well from what I've seen even leaves exit wounds at close range, just picked up a 12mm lead mould so will have a go with them next.
  14. An old feller I know and respect has kept bloodlines tight for generations both dogs and ferrets and all his stock are good healthy animals that don't mind abit of graft I asked him about abnormalities he said there's no such thing in 30 years of crossing his small families of stock he's never had one problem aslong as they are fed on a good diet and housed well aswell as bieng sound in body and mind in first place. Not something I'd do personally but it's worked for him ?
  15. I don't watch a lot of telly but Mrs shouted me in as it come on found it Sickening to be honest that they can come out with some of that shit even rabbits where mentioned as if it was illegal although that lads yard must've been havoc at feeding time though with all them loose.

  17. Real looker that no corners cut in the rearing of it either by the looks of things ?
  18. One thing I'd love to land and a sturgeon I've done a fair bit of carp fishing where cats are rumoured to be in residence but not come accross one yet any idea of size ?
  19. DS Ive heard abit about rumour mainly that he could find a fox aswell is kill them and was looking for the next one as he dropped the first from his mouth a proper dog ...
  20. Any good custom catapults on here? Nearly bought one yesterday the handle had been carved into a goldie painted up real nice also like the horse foot ones. Wouldn't mind seeing a few ideas like seen one a real good catapult had a cob rearing on front and a lurcher at full stretch on the other side.
  21. Hi folks been wanting to get myself a custom catty for a little while now liking the look of buffallo horn but haven't found anything suitable yet. Now I know flat bands are fast ect but I much prefer tubes purely becuase they last abit longer and there's nothing worse than heading out of a evening for some roost shooting and the bands go on you. Tried theraaband green and green dub dub any other recommendations for m10 hexnuts ?
  22. good to hear she's doing well mines had a few of them he tried all that going off an throwing a deafun soon sorted it tho. well have some fun with these next season for sure.
