  1. The warranty is transferable.
  2. The aspheric lens fitted to the Alpha will throw a lot further if that's what your after Joe.
  3. I think the new LED's with the broader spread might appeal to the lads with running dogs more maybe for closer range rabbiting, obviously they have the standard LED options to throw the beam further.
  4. These offer the best performance and value for money available. Performance is great and the option to change Lens head size and LED style/colour makes them very versatile depending on your needs. There a fraction of the price in comparison to similar products.
  5. Anyone interested in a compact portable torch, easy to change LED inserts, flood to spot beam, etc take a look at ludicrous lumens, theres a discount for forum members also with free postage. http://www.thehuntinglife.com/forums/topic/361649-ludicrous-lumens-discount-ns-alpha-forum-offer/

  7. I just take extra CR123's out with me now Stuart and I've never had issues, but I know what you mean about a backup.
  8. A few foxes shot over the last couple of weeks using .243 and .22 Hornet. Drone Pro night vision on the .243 and a Ward 700 used on the .22 Hornet. Photo with the rabbit in it, the fox stalked it in the stubble caught it and ran just under 200yds then turned for a shot.
  9. Stuart, I have two Drones here, I also had an armasight battery pack to power them, I sold this on, its just extra weight in my mind and bulky on the scope. I buy the cr123 cells from amazon I think there around £11-12 for 10 of them, I just turn the drone on for the shot then turn it off, to be honest they last me ages like this, and its much more compact, I use the thermal for spotting vehicle mounted and handheld. Do you have a separate spotter to use? PS if you wanted to use an EPS3 supply you could just make up a little convertor using a Buck regulator to drop it down from 12v to 6v,
  10. Is the ocular lens setup correct, and focused on the cross hairs.. what you look through?
  11. As far as I know yes it is.
  12. Save your money and buy a quantum instead Rabid, there not upto most peoples requirements for hunting, cheap yes, but there lens is small and design not ideal..keep saving.
  13. Lamp_Shy a couple of options available. Having tried a lot of digital night vision, the photons are a good little dedicated scope great for the money, another way of resolving POI and the need to shim is to fire a shot on a target then undo the holding screws on the front of the unit and move the front lens housing around until the cross hairs are on the bullet entry hole, then retighten this prevents any shimming and your cross hairs should be perfectly central in your eye display. A lot of people add doublers to the photons, but it severely reduces field of view, and can make it difficul
  14. Must be a Tracer thing jackknife my lightforce vehicle mounted handle has been in there about 7 year and never split, I just recently put some silicone grease on it to stop a little squeak when turning and its slick now.
  15. Daytime great, night time pants, if you are specifically looking for a night vision scope, a photon XT is cheaper and better.
  16. Anyone looking at buying a thermal, the new Pulsar XQ models are out in a month or two over in the UK. More optical mag due to a smaller pixel pitch sensor and some other small improvements. http://www.blackwoodoutdoors.co.uk/pulsar-quantum-xq-38-thermal http://www.blackwoodoutdoors.co.uk/pulsar-quantum-xq50-thermal
  17. What load did you settle on Elliot with the 35gr max?
  18. Its only 5x optical mag, its laggy, its very poor at adjusting to various light levels at range if objects are in the line of sight , it has very small sensor pixels that give it a good daytime image/resolution, but at night its major downfall is the pixels are too small and do not allow enough light in... unlike a Yukon Photon XT 6.5 that has bigger pixels and less of them, which allow much more light in, its cheaper and a better night vision scope. The X-Sight is probably the worst digital night vision scope available to be honest. Extra IR helps all digital NV but as others have said, you c
  19. The ATN Xsight is probably the worst night vision scope available, ok its good during the day, but at night.. crap!
  20. At about 50 yds max maybe..its crap, personally I'd avoid.
  21. For the money you will be hard pressed to beat one of these Dekers, plus you can change the lens head size easily upto 75mm and swap the pils out very easy, using various XPE2 color pils if needed. https://www.ludicrous-lumens.co.uk/collections/t-series-t20-t38-t50-t67-torches-ir/products/tr50-illuminator-gun-light-system-50mm
  22. Not tried one Bry, the lens size is small, core resolution small and refresh rate is low, so its not going to be very good at all.. but personally for a decent useable thermal for hunting your looking at £2000 and upwards. The Pulsar quantum are the best performance for money at the minute.
  23. If your going to spend money on quality optics, why not get a Hawke Sidewinder scope or MTC, etc, then a digital add on like a Ward 700. Best of both worlds, then you can use the add on to see at dusk clear as a bell without any torch right until night fall, then just add an IR torch and your good for night shooting upto 16x mag if needed.
  24. If you already have a thermal and your going down the HMR route get a photon put on it http://www.blackwoodoutdoors.co.uk/yukon-photon-xt-6.5x50-nightvision-scope or put a sidewinder on it and a digital add on at the rear. Personally I would avoid the Apex 38/50 if you really want a thermal rifle scope get the XD75 the extra magnification helps with thermal, but its costly. You dont have to mention anything about what scope your fitting to the gun. If your going to get more rifles, get a bigger cabinet, rifles with bipods/scopes etc on take up a lot of room, a 3 gun cabinet is not much u
