  1. From the shooting that me and a mate have done with 22H and 17H, we kind of agreed that my 22H would have more smack sub 200 yards on the foxes. You really need another calibre for foxes past that i.e. 223/243. Varminting wise, my 22H using 40gr V-Max @ 3,000fps will keep up with his 17H all day long out to 300+ yards. I've dropped rabbits at over 300 yards, out to 405 yards (on film) with the 22H in good conditions. Both calibres are limited in the wind, but in my experience neither are "better" than the other. I wouldn't trade my CZ527 22H for a 17H. It's probably more accurate than my
  2. Air arms S400K air rifle for sale £330, with silencer, excellent condition, very faint slight line on blueing, photos to follow.
  3. Get them shot, good shooting FTM, they need keeping on top of all year round... I've been dropping plenty with my new fac airgun as well...
  4. I would say there alright for the money mate, well I'm talking about the XQ30V models.. They will pick up a rabbit at 200m-250m max, fox out to 300-350 metres. The image and background detail is not as good as a Quantum XD38/50 or XQ38/50 model purely down to the lower quality flat lens used even though they have a 17micron sensor. But saying that they still do the job and detect heat to show you something is there, you will not get a better thermal for the price of £1299.99. The more money you spend the better the image.. http://www.blackwoodoutdoors.co.uk/pulsar-thermal-imaging/therm
  5. You get a bit more outline detail using black, gives you a better shape to ID with.
  6. Due to hopefully upgrade the software within a month and it should allow a much better mobile experience..
  7. If it was me and I wanted a cheap dedicated unit, for the money the Yukon Photon XT6.5 is good with the right IR torch. I hate add ons with big daft screens on the top of the scope, bulky, easily knocked, wires , not for me... I use a Ward 700/800 on everything from air rifle upto centrefire using either MTC mamba/viper, Hawke Sidewinder or Sightron scopes and its a nice self contained unit compact, keeps your normal shooting position, allows you to mag your scope right up if needed, very easy to swap between rifles..Cost £800 but there worth it for the versatility ...
  8. They will pick up a rabbit as a small heat speck at 200yds , fox out to 350yds . The image and terrain detail is nowhere near as good as the larger lens models XD/XQ 38/50mm but they are cheap and probably the best in there price range compared to competition.
  9. Yes FX Royale 400 mate, great gun, super quiet, got it cheap, it's been well looked after.
  10. Bought myself a nice little 30ft/lb air rifle to plink some rabbits off in paddocks, its a nice gun, much lighter than it looks and super accurate.
  11. Glad your getting on with it Billy, have you been using the black hot setting also?
  12. Hawke Sidewinders are ok with NV. The sightron 4-20x50 are cracking also for the money and great daytime optics too.
  13. The best spotter Pulsar Helion XP50 but its the most expensive from the Pulsar range but the image quality is noticeably better over the XQ models. If your on a budget the quantum lites are ok, they will detect heat signatures but the image is nowhere near the Helion XQ or XP quality, but for the price there good compared to any alternatives.. Give me a shout if your after one
  14. This next week the server will be getting migrated/upgraded so the forum might be intermittent and offline at some point just a heads up
  15. The sightline has been cancelled now due to issues with parts to manufacture it. The Photon will be continued for now.
  16. Image is brilliant on the XP50 model, very noticeable difference over the XQ model. But the XQ has more optical mag and is cheaper as you say, both will do the job, either way.
  17. No probs, the Helion XP50 image is superb if he wants the top end model.
  18. £600-£700 There will be two models, the higher mag being 7.5x optical, digital zoom, built in recording, similar battery pack to the quantum DNV packs and a nice low profile rear reaching mount.
  19. The Yukon Sightline is the new version to take over the Photon Foxdropper
  20. Could of saved money AND bought from someone who actually uses them in the field instead of salesmen BRY.... If its no good or theres better for the money, I'd let you know, whilst them bell ends will try to state everything is great, when a lot isn't Hope you enjoy it though
  21. The Yukon Sightline should be out in a few month mate.
  22. Where did you buy it from BRY?
  23. The HD/XD models were good, they featured a 25 micron sensor and offered 2.1 and 2.8x mag dependant on lens. Large FOV The XQ models have a 17 micron sensor, although not a huge improvement over the HD/XD models, it gave a crisper image, a little less grainy and detailed, it also gave 3.1 and 4.1 mag dependant on lens. IMO 4.1 is too much mag on a spotter due to reduced FOV and I preferred the XQ38 model. All the above units feature uncooled sensors (with no heatsink) and aspheric lens which can on the odd occasion cause ghosting of the image. The Helion XQ models performance wise
  24. The new model Apex XQ50 LRF are coming out within a month, with a 1000m laser rangefinder built in, should bring deadly to a new level. http://www.blackwoodoutdoors.co.uk/pulsar-apex-lrf-xq50-thermal-rifle-scope Also the new Trail XQ/XP Scopes are out now. http://www.blackwoodoutdoors.co.uk/Pulsar-Trail-XQ50-Thermal-Rifle-Scope http://www.blackwoodoutdoors.co.uk/pulsar-trail-xp50-thermal-rifle-scope
