Because everything needs updating at some point due to bugs, security exploits, etc . Same as your smartphone apps, tablets, computer software.

Like I say, give me awhile its better on mobiles, a lot more controls and options.
  3. Villaman is it a handheld or rifle mounted your looking for ?
  4. Forum will be getting updated at some point within the next 10 days, so just a heads up for any downtime or changes...
  5. All depends at what range your shooting at and if its rat/rabbit/fox sized. I personally think the Trail XQ50 is the best allrounder for the money.
  6. Do you want it for white light or for IR foxdropper..
  7. In what way was there meant to be a problem? With the rail?
  8. At a minimum you want a quantum lite xq30v, ideally you should spend more and get a Helion XQ38F or XP.
  9. At there price range they are the best performing unit available.. but obviously the Hellion models are better and cost more to reflect this. There capable of picking rabbit sized object heat signatures at upto 200-250 yards and fox around 350yds. They also have studs either side to fit a lanyard. They do the job most people need, of locating quarry very good. Downsides to the unit, are image, identification detail/range and background terrain is not as good as hellion models with better lenses, limited focus adjustment due to flat lens design. Other than that there worth the mone
  10. David makes a big difference to accuracy , when a trigger is too heavy you can pull a shot very easily... Lighter trigger, your not pulling off target. For the sake of £10 no brainer and makes the trigger around 1lb in pull weight, got one in my Tikka .243 and .223 ..
  11. Phil give me a shout if you want one.
  12. Hi Phil,I wanted exactly the same as you, so I bought the xq38f, I have had it for 2 weeks and used it virtually every night. I have mixed emotions about it, in some ways it's an absolute game changer, but it has drawbacks as well. First thought, its small, I was surprised just how small a unit they are, very impressed. It took a while to suss the menu out, like anything new, but once you work it out then fairly easy to use and change settings on the go. Battery life appears excellent, I've been using mine for two weeks, most every night, an hour or so each time, and still on the
  13. where did you get the trigger spring ian cheers stuart I orginally got one from riflecraft I think, but it took forever to come, months, so I ordered another from Dave at Valkyrie rifles, came quicker and was cheaper..
  14. Foxdropper sorry I mis-informed you the IR is adjustable in terms of aiming position, loosen the knurled lockring on the IR and then adjust to centre the beam as required then lock back up.
  15. 1800m detection range on man size object, but that basically means even one pixel illuminated its detecting something, but you have no idea what it will be.. The XP is 640 resolution so offers a better image and heat signature sensitivity , the image is great, past 200yds theres not much in it compared to the XQ model, but under this a huge difference.
  16. I can show you a Photon RT, if you wanted to take a look at one..
  17. The crimping made a slight difference in my 35gr vmax loads... When I get chance I'll do some groups with these loads uncrimped and crimped..
  18. Not yet Elliot plan to when I get chance, I was half tempted to get a labradar not sure if wind will affect them though... I did work the load upto 25.4 and the groups were still good, but I started getting slight cratering on the primers... I'll update velocity when I get chance...
  19. Cannot go wrong with Tikka's, fit a cheap £10 trigger spring and your laughing.
  20. It's only adjustable from spot to flood, not directional. To be honest nearly all inbuilt illuminators are only good for close range , you will get a much better image and range using an external illuminator . Also try popping the centre cap out of the front lens cap, this will help it be less focus fussy over range.
  21. Factory 40gr vmax goups well also and thats 30 thou off my lands.
