  1. I use a .243 and .223, the .243 is great with 58gr or 75gr vmax and beats a 22.250 in every aspect, I love my .223 Tikka great calibre, quiet, light recoil with a huge range of choice and cheap bullet selection.
  2. Doublers do make the image much better at range, but the downside for close up work the reduction in field of view is a right pain and makes getting on target twice as long..
  3. I might try some 52amax with Varget also, only tested it with N130, the groups were ok though.
  4. Out to 100-120 yds Oxon. Great for shooting into woodland, hedges, and getting them dropped quickly before they hop in.. Darren, sent you a PM.
  5. Good results Walsh? I'm currently using N130 with the 40vmax loads, I could never get the 52 head groups as good in my setup with same powder..
  6. Anyone using 52 Amax in .223 with a 1:12 twist barrel what powder combo suits your setup best?
  7. Anyone wanting a great deal on night vision and thermal visit www.blackwoodoutdoors.co.uk , email then telephone pricing. Forget other companies price match promise, some unscrupulous dealers, use this as a method to gather other companies quotes and report them..
  8. Hi toxo would it not be easier to find a decent load for one bullet head/powder combo first, working up the load, or are you just trying to save time and get lucky using this method.
  9. I've reloaded some winchester brass around 8 times crimping each time and there still spot on.
  10. I have never been able to get the stream vision section to work on any unit. The rest of the app works fine for updating firmware, viewing wirelessly, controlling the unit and recording. I think if you have an android unit it makes things easier than apple. I use an apple device and you can install an app called iconv , then when you view the videos on the stream vision app, you can send them to this and convert them to mp4 to send however you like..
  11. Yes I have a good load in my .223 also, I'm going to see if crimping improves things again...
  12. Personally I would avoid and go for a rear mounted or dedicated unit. Front mounted units have issues They can always be knocked changing POI You need real long arms to adjust the focus on them They are low base magnification 1x then your scope zooms into the eye display and makes the image bigger not better, in a rear mounted unit the resolution would increase, not on a front mounted unit. Only really good for large game like boar,deer,coyote/fox under 100yds Good point is you can put them on a decent scope like a swaro or zeiss as there at the front not the back and you
  13. I use all Lee dies and lee press and mainly full length size, although I do use an RCBS charge master to throw the loads..
  14. To be honest though any 50mm sized torch with a standard or AS oslon IR should do as the photon is that light sensitive..
  15. Multiple ways to mount easily I would use these mounted directly on top mate, as far back on the scope as you can to prevent glare at the front. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Rifle-Scope-Accessory-Mount-30mm-25mm-1-Weaver-Picatinny-Rail-Laser-Torch/222445802782?hash=item33cacd951e:g:ALIAAOSwzoRZhG7h https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Adjustable-Scope-Flashlight-laser-Mount-Adjusting-elevation-windage-directly/272621955321?epid=1994088542&hash=item3f7988e8f9:g:sPQAAOSwmgJY56mu There a lot of torches that will outperform the standard night master for the the money, all depends on wh
  16. X-Site is a heavy lump, eats batteries, crap mount system with poor eye relief and is possibly the worst dedicated digital night vision scope available and I've never seen video lag like it !!
  17. Personally I would go .223, or if you really want a .22-250 just get a .243 better allround.
  18. @Elliott just tried same load crimped vs uncrimped, the uncrimped was under 1/2” still, crimped much better, at 100yds. 4 shot group.
  19. I find the Xsearcher with extension tube added gives the best throw from every torch I have tried, thats with white/red pills. I use different style torches for NV.
