Stayed fairly local for this walk and had a few places I wanted to check out. Mainly places where we would camp as kids and spend all day fishing in the pools and small disused reservoirs. Nice to see a couple of nice wild brownies in the pools. Some signs of otters but the reservoirs have been drained. Apparently due to health and safety as kids were swimming in them. Thats all we ever did over the summer. Dogs were acting a bit funny in one area so I went down to have a look. If I was in a mind to get another running dog for running a few hare's around the fields around me and other land around Rotherham that's what I would contemplate some thing like a bitch I had bred down from the Caithness dogs from T McPhee to a dog called the beast out of drax and a bitch owned by P Noone .

My eldest is 18 now, still mad keen, more to little dogs now tho since he had the Plummer, after it died he got a little border lakie, I rarely see dog he always at it with it or got it out with him, that’s why I got the youngest lad the Russel, got it for following the local hounds an he loving it. Ayup lads. I read in this section but don't post much, for my own reasons. I always wanted a pup off my bitch, her early days were on here before I went quiet. I'm considering breeding her this year, I always wanted a pup of her and she is now 6 so it's now or never IMO. Like I say there are some early posts on her progress before I stopped sharing. It’s hard to generalise with whippets the old lady’s dog or bitch up the road 17. 1/2 in might slay a fox easier than the big lads and some of the little ones might out perform the big lads on the lamp and ferreting you never know until ya try it’s either in em or not it’s part of it and how much the owner puts in , I’ve never had prob with little ones on lamp or ferreting

Had a call off a customer asking me to travel outside the area I work, agreed to do for an extra charge (travelling/fuel). Turned out he knew folk I know, so after settling bill upfront , he come out with a tip haha told him no good to me, he insisted, so father in law got a nice wee surprise when I get back talk about well run, smooth as a baby’s bottom haha

Had a few days up in North Wales with my youngest lad. Few areas I hadn’t been for a while so we took a trip out. He’s been learning to map read/navigate for a few weeks so we took the map and compass for a bit of practice. Walked around to a couple of lakes and a bothy where I spent a lot of time when I was growing up. Got the cooker on for some hot grub and hot chocolate. We’ve decided to head back up in the summer, stay at the bothy and do some fishing.

Whippets can take the odd roe, but they can't be considered "deer dogs"; Cheers.

Never been to a baseball game, we usually watch a football match in any city we visit... try and convince the wife and daughter to watch a game of men's rounders whilst we're here.

Read some bad reviews about him on social media recently mate from lads who have ordered steels off him. One lad claiming he had found roach ends amongst the steels and reckoned they were short on the amount ordered and another claiming there were other bits of steel debris amongst the steel balls. Ordered 3 thousand 9.5s from catty precision Monday and recieved them yesterday they were well packaged and it would have been nigh impossible for the package to burst open in transit.

It’s a strange time we live in where many, many men want to be famous for being violent men. Doing violence or being regarded as violent used to be reserved for very tiny sections of society and was actually just a means to an end, a tool for a job…….now it seems like the end goal itself.
