Good luck mate in your new upcoming lifestyle I’ve Been living on the narrow boat 14 months now, I can honestly say it’s the best decision I’ve made, it’s bloody great, and all the clutter has gone from my life, I’m in a marina in staffs so everything is on hand and plenty fields to roam all around, the peace and tranquility is fecking ace. I'm sure you’ll all adapt fine. but remember BOAT generally means Bring out another thousand lol all the best9 points

Not been happy living where we are,for a few yrs now, been looking at options to free up some cash, and have a change of lifestyle/pace....Just accepted an offer on the first house, when it's sold,we will be purchasing our first narrow boat, moving onto the water fulltime...got a few jobs to do,next few months before selling the second property to a cash buyer... money will be cleared in 28 days...with that cash we plan to buy a wide beam for the Mrs and Myself to live aboard...my 3 teenagers will have the narrow boat to live on...we will both still be going out to work for at least the next 5 yr8 points

Seriously mate, if I was as disillusioned with this country as you are, I’d be off somewhere better ! You seem a handy lad that can turn his hand to most things, you love hunting, you have a young family; somewhere like Australia, New Zealand or Canada would be perfect for you . I did it when I was 24 and loved it, I retired and came home when my circumstances changed. This country is ok for old farts like me, but holds no future for you young’uns, especially with a Labour government. Cheers.8 points

Fox lads would do plenty of road siding over here but never heard of anyone actually driving the land unless your out with the landowner, probably because we have small fields but that isn't the case everywhere. I'd never of dreamt of driving over ground I hadn't permission on but some cnuts have respect for f**k all.7 points

Dug out, stoned up and put some Aco’s in because the levels are to steep to take the water away from the house, just been told the paving won’t be here until the first week in December, bugger, so much for rapping in for the year7 points

Tried a newly opened restaurant today just off trafalgar square, great decor very good food.6 points

We would sometimes drive around the lanes shining out across fields or if we had permission would sometimes drive around headlands but I much preferred walking as a lot of the time we could get multiple runs in a decent field but all this racing round fields chasing gear and chucking dogs out of motors is just an excuse for poor fieldcraft and shite dogs or a lot of the time both imo6 points

Lost count of the amount of kingfishers I saw, sika and roe just peering out the bankside foliage buzzards ,herons ,four sparrow hawks hunting the tow paths it has been great I done this one as a favour and for the experience but doing my calculations I am looking at doing it as a profession if you can get the work I could travel for about 3months of the year and bank around 20k at the current rates they charge, I have the tickets I need so only expense would be insurance, I see opportunities everywhere I go lol5 points

Noting serious was just told I need to post more from out here....so jus though. Though some locks today. Got to break our two barge tow in half to go though these little ones vs where you can go right though with 20 burgers in two on the river At night there's a lot of animals that hang out around these locks. Deer hogs heck I've actually seen flamingos. Apparently these like a small population this side of Texas3 points

All best with it Dan, fair play to you. My old man has a narrowboat, he has a house but spends most of the time on the boat. He rents part of a farmers field and it's about an hour away from his house. There is only 4 boats there, 3 live a boards permanently and my dad's. He has parking for 2 cars and running water to each boat and a decent little plot of land. It's in the middle of no were and he only pays £25 A week rent, it's ideal ! No muzzies no migrants , no annoying neighbours. Wakes up the the sound of the ducks. Plenty of wildlife. Must admit I think if I retire or tak3 points

Normal p***y behaviour, if you've been around them you know this is totally predictable and to be expected.3 points

Good luck with the move and hope it all goes to plan for you. It's no good when you're in your 60s still in the same position wishing you had taken a risk to change your life when it's too late.3 points

One of my most funniest memories was going down a river in a rice boat in the backwaters of Kerala in India, over there is a load of beautiful lily pads up there is a sea eagle and just over there is a bloke having a projectile shit straight into the river I was crying with laughter others on the boat just didn’t get it lol2 points

Good luck Dan I don’t blame you tbh the way the world’s going hope your adventure works out for you lot . I’ve got dreams of just f***ing everything off at some point and either getting a boat and cruising the cut or trying to get a plot of land to try becoming a smallholder on that’s something I’ve dreamed of most of my life since being young but had to try be normal like everyone else and fit in2 points

It’s not about farmers or land owners, pheasants, rabbits. It’s the type of people who think it’s fine to ruin someone’s property and cost people money for fun, then when told to f**k off start fighting them. It’s everything I’m teaching my lad not to be. These prat’s want respect when thier in pub giving it large but don’t treat other people how they want to be treated. And they are never alone , they always go mob handed then threaten someone who’s solo, when they got all thier dinlos about them.2 points

Also I'm a big believer that running dogs straight out of a motor is a surefire way to add to your chances of injuries.2 points

Only video I got today. Young Luna pup really coming good, she's all business now in the fields, she started this hunt. We flushed some big ears and saw some dogs worked hard for hrs. Rabbits are scarce these days and other vermin is hard found but harsh weather coming in should improve marks.2 points

When we find a boat,we will be in touch , will be needing your help and advice, and a second opinion on whatever we decide to buy,we will All have to learn to drive and maintain them, that includes my 3 kids,I honestly can't wait,to f**k off all this f***ing shite and tat, that we accumulate, but don't really need in life2 points

Bloody things keep coming. Two days ago number 5 ended up in the great compost bin grave yard. Thinking I had had them all I put the sunflower hearts out again. Yesterday another bugger upside down on the feeder so took in in again and this morning set the traps early. Number 6 for the compost bin. Big male this time. Cheers Arry2 points
