My daughter has decided after 6 months of mortgage that it’s a massive scam and is selling her house and wants me to build her a tiny home on my place (she has also aimed out the boyfriend as well which is a bonus ! Lol ) So for any lads that may be interested, I’ve made a start and here is a few photos. Ill post a few more as we go along The base is an old 2 berth caravan that we stripped down and tipped, I’ve then had a local old boy weld me up a 6m long frame to fix on the top of the caravan chassis, the chassis are approx 1300mm wide. All strong box tube, we wi

  16. Yes like the old asbestos sheets but no asbestos, plus can get coloured, black or slate blue look best for domestic imo.. lots of positives to using this instead of tin plus imo they look smarter than your traditional tin sheet and same kind of cost... We do a fair bit of bespoke builds, using different materials, hand pressed aluminium or zinc etc ... But I'd go profile 3 at my place and I know Wilf place is similar Brothers just done a huge extension in his, used copper fascias , black hand pressed material, aluminium caps in black etc...it looks the bollocks, but his is a fairly new h

  19. Right, here goes, bear with me chicken breast marinated in harissa, honey, garlic and lemon juice overnight before being cooked in a griddle pan, with a pepper, tomato and shallot stew and basmati rice the picture doesn’t do it justice, it was delicious, I think it would of been just as good without the rice and more of the stew

  23. Fair play wilf love little projects like this gives a good sense of achievement once finished looking forward to seeing the progress. If I was ever a single man again id not have a conventional home it’s a con job with rents or mortgage prices I’d probably live on the roads or buy a boat. I see a lot of young couples were there relationships have gone south it all stems back to lack of money due to having all there money tied up in paying mortgages or over priced rents that they can’t do anything bar sit in there 4 walls

  24. If you're going with 100mm studs go slightly thinner on insulation if you're using something solid like cellotex or kingspan so as to leave an airgap mate.25mm gap should be adequate.

  26. They are too cold and too flimsy mate, this job will be 100mm insulation in walls, floor, roof. 100mm stud walls Sheathed in 18mm OSB, floors are 7 x 1 1/2 again with OSB laid on top, roof the same. Wrapped with breathable membrane and then clad in powder coat black corrugated steel……so it will be a proper all weather all year round home. Still thinking about inside but I’m guessing it will be a timber clad scandi type job, she wants a Belfast sink and all that caper……statics are only about 40mm walls with polystyrene insulation, take some keeping warm in winter mate. 28. I knew him quite well when we were teenage mods, and we once swapped Lambrettas. We lived very close but drifted apart in our 20’s, he went to London to find both fame and fortune, I went to live and work in the Middle East , not finding fame, but made a decent life for my family and myself. He often mentioned his early pals in his various programs and he mentions my mother and my late brother in law in his autobiography, and his tv shows. Cheers.

  29. Similar principle to this...150 mm rock wool in the walls, reflective breathable membrane, then batten and plasterboard...the gap aids airflow and you use it to run your electric/telecoms cables, where ever you want power...start with a 150 mm batten off the floor,100mm gap for sockets, then batten up to your switch height, batten to ceiling, plasterboard over

  35. If it was me.. I'd keep the joists exposed as a feature, ply over the top and then insulate above the ply, either with a hard celotrx type insulation or use small roof zeds (metal) and insulate between with cladding roll... (That would be cheaper)... When your closer I'll send you typical details mate, send me your email address again and I'll send you some info so it works... If not a busman's holiday is on the cards! 40. We already are… and it looks like Israel are now ploughing the fields but sowing nothing. Make no mistake, we are on the precipice, all of humanity … do you have any understanding of history? Islam is responsible for countless deaths and suffering over the centuries. I’m not talking just about war, I’m talking about acts of sheer barbarism. Something the Christian religion, officially, left behind a long time ago (we are not talking about governments here). Their countries still operate on a medieval ideology. Kuwait and Qatar banned Marvel films (think it was Eternals that started it) b

  42. That's exactly how I see it, DDD is way too easy to hit, Joe Joyce who in any fight has never been quick, both movement wise or punching wise, found DD with surprising ease, Hrgovic tee'd off on him all night long. You don't want to be easy to find against a man with the finishing skills and power of Joshua, which I think is gonna happen, AJ big KO around round 8 or 9, DD best chance is catching AJ early, which could happen but I see AJ doing the job, he seems to have gone back to the Tony Sims AJ which is forgetting trying to be a slick boxer and using his natural strengths and advantag

  43. Joshua will be as well avoiding Dans jab its a punishing shot......personally i think Dubois will just be a little bit too easy to hit though and Joshua is a reasonably fast and accurate puncher....cracking fight though and good card in general, proper British fight night like the old days....you have to hand it to Joshua he avoids nobody its probably the most competitive heavyweight fight out there at the moment.
