Idk if the term trash fish is a thing over there but it's commonly used to talk about fish people deem inedible, a nuisance, not worth catching ect. Stuff like carp, bullheads ,sheep's head ,drum, gar and so on. Lotta folks fee the same about animals like squirrel, muskrat, nutria, possum ,coon ... You get the picture. But got a long heritage of taking trash and making it good eating , though now super fancy looking, so anytime I hear someone say some critter isn't edible I need to try it myself.... Half the time its somone who has no clue how to really work with anything past chicken or13 points

Don't know what you call this. It was hansom, had to use up some news potatoes. Potatoes, Bacon, Sausage, Black pudding, Onions, Mushrooms, Tomatoes, Garlic and a Fried Egg on top. Cheers Arry11 points

Carp are also the number root cause of suicide in the uk . many’s the sad soul fisherman in the southeast who has sat baiting their lines up only to be approached by a man said to be in Possession of the most boring set of carp knowledge in the world , the only escape from such a conversation Was the murky depths of the chalk pit . if anyone has experienced any such encounters please send them to carpingisfornonstarters@hotmail.com10 points

You're having a sardine sandwich a couple of times a week but one of the worse things you can eat is bread.Carbs like bread, pastry, rice will spike your insuline just the same as sugar. And you dont need to eat just lettuce to be healthy.I eat loads of meat,me and my daughter go through 3 to 4 dozen eggs a week.I cook in beef dripping, use real butter.I also have loads of fruit and veg especially advacado and blueberries. What I dont eat is bread, pastries, pasta, crisps, sweets, fizzy drinks or squashes,or anything from a jar or packet.Think back to what are parents and grandparents ate years ago and9 points

The game is too far gone now for hope of realigning the law. the recent Scottish bill will inevitably creep south of the border . The job isn’t just f****d , it’s now on only fans making a good living . hindsight is a difficult beast to feed , but in reality, we should have torn London apart at those marches. Thats the truth a million pounds led us to this . Labour never gave a f**k about the rural vote then , and considerably less now. one final thing , I say this very sad hearted . Things reach a natural cycle, of all my friends into the dogs , only two of their7 points

I’m too long in the tooth for any more bird mate , nor do I want padding up with the youth of today mad far as anyone’s concerned I’m a respectable business man and I need a conviction like a hole in the head for the sake of a few rabbits or a hare6 points

I keep a few teckels and can only comment on mine. There a grand breed, i use mine for bushing and you'd have a right bit of craic with them I have one dog that would be hard enough. But the others are either not bothered about going to ground or will go in and sound away. You'd get handy foxes with them but you wouldn't be digging 6 foot to them. That suits me as I want them hunting. There might be lines that are better for digging? As others said if you are serious about digging than other breeds might be more suitable.6 points

Even a lot of the wholemeal and multi grain breads would shock you if you took time to look at the ingredients. Its whya lot of modern breads last for over a week in the cupboard now.30 or 40 ingredients in something that should only need 4 max.I cant remember the exact ammount but I was reading somewhere about how much sugar is in a slice of wharburtons seeded bread. It would be healthier to have a slic of cake.5 points

Sometimes the VAT can be the difference between getting and loosing jobs in the building trade. Most asked question when pricing smaller jobs for joe public."Can you loose the VAT for pound notes?"4 points

I believe the garfish is of the Mackerel family but people don’t eat them because they are put off by their green bones, they are perfectly edible. As for carp, never tried it but the chinks and Eastern Europeans seem to love them and the reason we have them in the UK is because they were originally the food stuff of monks who kept them for precisely that reason. But I think a lot of it is that people don’t really want to prepare their own food, I was on a fishing trip a few years back in the Atlantic off the Sligo coast. We caught loads of mackerel and pollock but when we got b4 points

Great sentiment but all based on a false premise…… The bit the author is overlooking is that firstly, the two main party’s couldn’t give a flying f**k about the average British bloke, his way of life or what he thinks. Secondly, these Party’s are made up of people who think in exactly the same way as the antis think, who care more about “scare words” and saying a bloke in a wig is a real woman…..they don’t care about the ex miner or shipyard worker, they f***ing loathe him in reality. Why the f**k we, not just as hunting folks but as British folks, keep trying to appeal to peop4 points

I don't think it is mate, but no harm in asking ..I've been in the building game most of my life, "can you lose the VAT" is a normal request, whether you do or not is up to you ...I wouldn't as I'm law abiding and want to ensure my taxes are paid...but some scallys will!4 points

The missus and I were just talking about this. We remember when high streets had pork butchers, wet fish shops, greengrocers, hardware shops, instead of estate agents , charity shops and fast food outlets…..but we ARE very old though ! LOL ! Cheers.3 points

Bangers...what hes saying is...you cant polish a turd, you can put as much time into a digging dog as you want...but if its hearts not in it....they will walk out on you one day, nothing is guaranteed...some start off flying first season or 2...then for what ever reason they walk out on you...there is no winning formula when it comes to working dogs, you can put best to best, feed them the best and still end up with nothing...like they say...takes as much to feed a good un,as a bad 1...the problem is lads breeding from said dogs because they don't have the heart to PTS, because of the money and3 points

There is not one party in this country that is going to support any kind of hunting, maybe fishing for a while but they will make that harder and harder. They all pander to the gleany greenies and the media hate any kind of hunting while knowing f**k all about it. The future for the country skills is grim imo. Cheers Arry3 points

Yes mate I was per Diabetic then they said I have gone over the thresh hold now. They put me on Metformin which with a a diet change and losing a stone in weight seems to be under control. Gave the group sessions the elbow I hate have to commit to that sort of thing. What got me was have the check ups blood test etc and bollacking was a nurse that was about five foot two and about 16 stone tell me to lose weight. I cut out sugar as much as I could have Oat flakes with chia seed, flax seed sprinkled on plus blue berries and raspberry with oat milk for breakfast. Now they are telling3 points

Remember having a mounted head of a good roebuck my lurcher took on my kitchen wall years ago and having to take it down and hide it when the daughters as kid's had their mates round for birthday parties and such like. It's never traumatised my kid's seeing dead animals though like dogmandont said it's feckwits like this individual in the link that's causing more damage to the working dog world than antis could in a month of Sundays.3 points

Ah, my apologies. But yeah it's crazy how picky "hungry" people are. But there a certain magic about going from game to plate and once you get somone in that their hooked . About like a spiritual thing to a degree to go from killing the animal taking care to process it the way you want to on your plate. It's difficult though, not eveyone can do it. Some wanna make it the most cave man bullshit ever, some wanna completely over do it with trying to make it fancy... Presentation helps a lot too.a bloody just shot rabbit vs a nicely quartered up and vacuum sealed one always seems to get to se2 points

Gator, spotted, long nose ,short nose ,and Florida gar are the main ones. Most won't touch them because they "have too many bones" in reality they don't like the extra lil work of getting though the hide with I'm legit about like armor plate. But once you get tit off People say the same thing about bones in carp but will happily eat around and pick though all the Y bones in pike or pick them out of a Salmon.... Just an excuse for you ca toss them in the ditch and not feel bad2 points

I’ve got a lot of these, different sizes. There’s an old mine shaft near my allotment where a local hospital, now long gone , dumped their rubbish. Bottle collectors are always digging it up and a lot of the stuff is in good condition. Cheers.2 points

Genuine question: I've heard GWP lurchers mentioned a lot, off and on, over the last thirty years or so...but never GSP crosses. Any reason for that? Is it simply because the wire-hairs have more of a reputation as general vermin dogs?2 points

I only eat multi grain bread now mate and very interestingly is I used to get reflux from white bread of coarse I never realised it was the white bread I thought it was cheese. From the moment I changed to multi grain bread my reflux went. I would agree with most food you mention but our grandparents didn't have the information we have now and most grandfathers went from heart attacks or cancer from smoking. How every most grandmothers seemed to live a lot longer. Also they didn't have the ultra processed foods that are around today which I personally try to stay away from but I do like my bac2 points

Holiday resorts are the same the World over,.... You tend to get what they think you want. I always head for the mountains and hang out with the locals,...but, its not really much fun for a family of lively young' un's,.. I do understand that.... I live 5 minutes from a sandy beach, so that holds no attraction for me.. If I am going to spent time and vonga on a trip abroad I want it to be different,...really different....2 points

Gave it a go this weekend mate it's OK for close range though I spotted eyes at a fair distance though with it being a lower end model the magnification is not as good and I could not make out what the eyes belonged to. If say I needed one for spotting deer a good distance away an higher end model would be a better prospect. It's like most things you buy these days you have to pay more for better. This model might suite your needs but in all honesty I wish I had got a more expensive higher end model.2 points
