Short rib of beef braised in red wine and mushrooms, with added fried mushrooms and lardons. Took the bones out before serving. I might make the wife earrings out of them The beef was really tender and full flavour. We got it from a Gordon Ramsey recipe on youtube.12 points

The Fury clan have not been good for british boxing. The same goes for the current British heavyweights. Dubois and AJ are poor representatives of our sport. They just don't seem genuine articles to me. They don't seem to to take the advice to 'never leave anything in the ring'. They seem to lack heart and guts. I would rather endure an hour in church than watch Tommy Fury. It's insulting to proper boxers to spend time and money watching the likes of him. But there's plenty of genuine lads out there in the smaller divisions who are worth supporting. The sooner the Furys f**k9 points

You know I gotta say , dealing with cows isn't half as fun when their super tame. When we still had our 200 odd feral one you would about die in the catch pen . Damn things would be trying to just over gates ,pound you to the side of the pen , hook you ,stop you breaking gates off of hinges heck had to have cowboys out here on horse back with dog at least once a year to help catch the really wild ones but now , got down to like 20 head and their all basically puppies now and sort and load them all by myself half asleep. More efficient and safe , yeah I guess but boring as hell8 points

Moved the 2 turkey chicks out the brooder into shed. Chickens are as welcoming as usual so see how they go on. Could wake up to two dead uns tomorrow! The Norfolk bronze and black have caught up with the hens size wise and starting to over take em. The chickens are about 13week, the bronze/blacks about 10week, the 2 bourbons are 6 week. Pigs growing on well too.8 points

There's was an Iraqi General during the Gulf War, nicknamed Comical Ali, who claimed, when we were rolling through Baghdad, destroying the retreating Revolutionary Guard, that Iraq was actually winning. Your sounding a lot like him ! Salam alakhum, effendi.7 points

Dropped on the same farm from ‘tother week earlier today for two hours of ratting. Ended up with twenty four. A few less than last time so we’re making inroads into their numbers. Same dog team. One happy farmer5 points

What part of “the Muslim world is one entity” is nobody f***ing grasping ? Loose support ?…..they will never loose support because this is how they ALL think and feel ! How many more times, these people ain’t like us…..stop applying European ways of thinking to Arab and African and Asian ways of thinking !5 points

I can't understand the Hamas 'masterplan'. Surely they knew the retaliation they could expect would lead to far more Palestinian deaths than Israeli deaths. More importantly, at least to them, that Hamas would lose support from those who previously sympathised with them. The Palestinians already had shit lives, but things are going to get a lot worse for them ..thanks to Hamas. I hope the yanks persuade them. The images of dead and wounded kids are horrific. Those who say f**k em, they are muslims are sick in the head. They are kids. Religion is what adults force on children.3 points

The Ummah is a fallacy, where are the Pakistani and Indonesian brothers now ? Nothing to be heard from them. Even the Saudis, the Custodians of the two holy mosques, want nothing to do with it. The most fervent supporters of Hamas and Palestine seem to be white, left wing, middle class social justice warriors ! How many of them would go out to Gaza and pick up an AK 47 and defend their “friends “ ? Hamas have made a huge mistake . Cheers.3 points

My old and local club earlston rfc are doing excellent just now bottom of the bottom league but been 7 years since we’ve had a “team” those boys all love each other drink with each other etc like we did and of to a running start for the season ...... but id love to see them promoted same time I’d hate it because I know and experienced what happens after over confidence more travelling means more boys using cars not bus less bonding more loosing better options for the better players at other clubs that are winning that would pay our saving grace is we have the best sevens rugby tournament3 points

Correct, they are cryptids for a reason,as they say Sasquatch is the worlds greatest hide and seek champion. the himalaya is superstition,I spoke to old people who said yes they exist, spoke to young people who said they had never seen one but been told stories, travel and internet have opened the world up and the old mysteries are dissapearing.2 points

I always wonder what the legendary boxing trainer from Sheffield the late Brendan Ingle would have had to say about the YouTube boxing scenarios and the Furys.2 points

I was never into rugby but I can identify with what you write there because that’s what local football (or rugby) is all about. Its a hard balance between wanting to progress as a club & players and not loosing what made you “you” ? That, imho, is where good club management come in……they create the ethic around a club, I think it’s perfectly possible to be a team striving to live & progress and get better and at the same time remain something still Connected to the community around you. I think players moving on to bigger and better things should be regarded as a mark of s2 points

my man !!! When we had borders team when I was about 14 Paul I Connell wasn’t playing for I want to say Munster might be wrong his scrum cap strap broke and he threw it away I ran on grabbed it and end of the match I ran across the pitch and caught him mubbled something about signing it ..... he took it turned round never said a word and walked into the tunnel ..... I walked back across the pitch trying not to cry awaiting the piss taking from my pals and the whole home side and half way across felt hand in my shoulder turned round looked up and that man just smiled at me gave me half hug and2 points

The wife and I had a break in Norfolk the other week and I had to stop near Mick's place (I was still able to find it after 40+ years), I smiled at memories of when Doug Cooper and I used to spend many weekends up there. Mick came down to Surrey a few times and he had fun but his dogs hated the bloody flint fields here and Mick was always glad to get back home. They were grreat times and I still miss them, even after all these years. RIP Mick and Doug.2 points
