When I see sand my heart beat rises a little, my last encounter with sand was a 3.2 dig and the one before that was 7ft and a dead dog, sand is for the beach only.12 points

Out tonight on the chicken farm ,usual place and straight away there’s Charlie walking towards me along a badger track .On sticks ,tiny squeak and wallop he’s down .Nice sized dog fox .On a bit and there’s another just come into the field way over the other side about 400m .Wind was right so I had a squeak .Not usual for here as they get preoccupied looking for chicken that are unfortunate enough to get locked out .This green fox came trotting in like a dog and I stopped him about 100 yards to join the other .Long wait for the last customer but worth it for the longest shot at night to date .10 points

Bought a double clay throwing stick off eBay other day for a tenner delivered, it’s mint.. I’ve got a trap that’ll launch them just fine but these throwers are mint cos you can mix it up no problem and chucking them 60yard into wind was easy! took the boy to the chicken farm last night to get him use to the 410, he showed this 48 gallon drum who was boss? I was showing him how it pattens at different ranges an the impacts, he was pretty impressed until me mate shot it with 50gram of steel and it put a fist sized hole through it.. I told him there’s something to work up too?6 points

When I was younger I would give a dog away and just convince myself it would settle and be ok and most probably were, but now I keep my dogs till death,I only hunt now for the pleasure of watching the dogs work so am more forgiving of their faults.I think you look at things differently as you age.6 points

That day is etched into everyone's minds for good, if you watched the footage, listened on the radio etc you'll never forget it...it is by far (in my opinion) the biggest single event in our lifetime (post ww2). We were out for a meal one night in NY and sat next to a couple from Brooklyn, got yapping and ended up having a few beers with them...he worked in the city and told us about the day...he said he remembers the smell and strangely the paper..he said there was millions of bits of paper floating around the city falling like confetti... a very nice fella, and proud of his city. I went not long after the attack and it was still.a huge building site, a complete mess with just that 1 little church sat on the side of it...god knows how it survived! Went back a few years ago and went to the ground zero museums that is under ground and you can see the original foundations etc, it is an amazing place, loads of parts of the original structures, fire engines that were buried in rubble, the last piece of steel that was draped in the stars and stripes banner and piped out of the site and all the time you walk.around it there is footage or recorded voice messages of the day6 points

I agree with the sentiment of all of that mate, but I think we are Forgetting one thing, war is a natural thing for human beings as it is for many creatures.......I think we just have to accept that to us, it’s as natural as breathing. Its how you manage the outcomes imho, and it obviously don’t make a lot of sense to go and beat a wild animal with a stick then invite it round for tea. Soldiers and police are operating against savages with one arm tied behind their back and common European decency in their heart. In 1945 we wiped two Japanese cities off the face of the earth5 points

Germany invading Poland.........Breaking international law ! Japanese bombing Pearl Harbour......... Breaking International law ! Argentina invading the Falklands ........ 9/11 was The start of a terror campaign..... That's still being implemented today by the same twisted Peado fucks that run the show..... And it's f***ing worked... Something else will come along shortly.... And folks will lap up that shit too?.. There's a bigger picture..... And unfortunately lots and lots of everyday people losing their lives didn't and still don't mean shit to them?4 points

I think most British blokes felt some kind of solidarity with our American brothers that day mate as I think we always have in our own bizarre way (even though you are ungrateful colonials ! Haha) However, New York did have mixed feelings, especially for people from major British cities, because you have to understand we had been subjected to this kind of terror for years and seen our young soldiers come home in coffins directly because of money supplied by New York........NORAID was responsible for thousands of deaths on British soil so there was a little bit of “this is what it feels l4 points

Talking of horses & horsey people, this is a post I placed on a farming forum couple years ago, think it was February... Had a new hay customer come to pick up from the yard. 2 big rounds & 45 small square (hate small bales). Nice enough horsey lady. Handball the smalls on, at least it warmed me up. Chit chat (well I listened she whinnied) then said cheerio. The the itching starts...down front of bib/brace, down shirt, inside vest. Try to ignore it but it's maddening. Fine, I'm in the yard alone all day. Good brisk westerly gusting through, that'll shift it. Bra4 points

Good to have a MTBing thread on here fellas.. hope you get sorted with your bikes soonish lads that waiting.. I binned work off on Thursday. I didnt make the decision until the alarm went off at 5:00am! Noticed they'd given a decent forcast so decided to throw the bike in the car and do the hour's drive into the heart of the Peaks, Derbyshire. Being early and midweek was bliss. This popular trail gets rammed on a weekend but i had all to myself..3 points

I'm just back an hour, from the bike shops, I'm trying to get a hybred sports mountain bike, and it will be next march roughly before I will be able to buy one, the demand far outweighs the supply, he had tons of other bikes, road racers, mountain bikes and city tourers, but nothing I would be able to use on the roads or in the forestry paths, so next summer it seems like for me3 points

The second gulf war and Afghan wars were the first wars in my lifetime and, as far as I can make out, in British history where there definitely was a sense of “what the f**k is this about, this is bollocks” amongst the general population......there was a definite collective national unease about those wars. People were 100% behind the lads as they always are, but the countries involvement in those wars and what they were for?.....I’m not so sure, I don’t think so. It couldn’t have helped seemingly being forced to bend over as a race to people we were being told were our enemy interna3 points

It will have the best defences available, problem is human ; who has the authority and will to initiate them ? The number of aircraft in the sky at any one time is unbelievable, they are literally "stacked" above places like New York and Washington, waiting to be given a landing slot. They can be seen on radar but are identified by their transponder, the hijackers had disabled the transponders. These were normal commercial flights, so someone had to decide if the transponder had been disabled or had malfunctioned. Who was going to make the decision to bring down a plane fu3 points

I remember the attacks on New York very well, I was out grafting and my Mrs phoned me and said “The US is under attack” .......I remember the words clear as day. She said just come home so I did, they closed down London, evacuated Canary Wharf and places like Lakeside shopping centre. Sat and watched events unfold on the telly as we all did, I have never seen anything like that. Watching people who had just gone to work that day hurling themselves in desperation from that building knowing they had no chance to survive.....it was heart breaking. Of course later on we had the3 points

A couple of months ago i was contacted by a friend to see if i would try to alleviate a customer of his fox problem. I said i would but couldn't go for a while due to other commitments. Well a fortnight ago i had fulfilled those commitments and was in a position to go. Consequently i phoned my friend and asked him for the chaps number so that i could possibly arrange a meeting that weekend and see what the problem was. Well whilst speaking to my friend he said "hang on a minute i will ring you back shortly". Two minutes passed and the phone rang, "he will meet you at his house tonight at half2 points
