Tyla 3,179
Ok, i wanted to build a basket and even after searching on here couldnt find an easy guide with sizes. This is my attempt, seems good to me but i am by no means an expert so anyone with any good alterations let me know i started with 5mm mild steel rod, cut it with grinder to sizes below and bent it to shape by hand using a vice. See pic of parts below 2 x Back pieces @ 22" 1 x Hoop @ 51" 2 x Pole stops @ 13" 2 x Strap holders @3.5" Then had a mate weld it together, see next pic, and smoothed off welds with the grinder. Sprayed it with hammerite, black wouldve been good but had the silver lying about. Used the netting from an old landing net to form the bag, sewn on with nylon twine. The strap has been in the shed ages and just so happened to be the right size. it works a treat, so much easier than the various bags and things i've been using it from so far ! Should have done it ages ago. My only thought is that the next one wont be quite as wide as i measured off the longer poles on the other net rather than the shorter on this one , still could just swap the nets over i spose. Anyway, hope this helps someone Quote Link to post
