ghostlyease 17
Well this will be the day we roll out the new ACES weight pull rules, all rules will be stated before the day and of course as always are subject to change, if we find they are not working as we thought they would. ACES days running order 2 digitally timed runs. (100 meters for adults, 50 meters for pups & newbies) 1 group race (optional, all dogs must wear muzzles) Weight pull simultaneously running with 1 of the following supervised activities : Vertical scale, Long jump or A-Frame competition. Pups under 12 months old are free but are limited to what they are allowed to do, older pups can be placed in the longer runs ect if owners wish to pay the £5 fee. Crates are useful if you have them although we do have a secure holding area for dogs that do not have them. Well fitting collars and strong leads are a must, if you have a spare lead then bring it along, makes life easier. Burger van with very reasonable prices and lovely food by the fabulous Kim will be in attendance for this day. Hope you can make it........... ACES field A23 London bound RH17 6BA The next ACES day after this one will be 23rd Aug and it will be a championship day, IKC points available for 1st placing IKC registered dogs at ACES Championship days. We'd never been before as you know, so we thought we'd give it a go. The dogs absolutely loved it, although on one of his runs (the 13.44 one) Chalky got a bit distracted by some nice smelling rabbit poo just as I let him go by the start line! I'm sure he'd have beaten Lardy's time if he'd have not got distracted..., Lee was at the other end and he said that he (Chalky) won the second of his group races - and boy those borders are rapid! Unfortunately we got a call and had to leave before the long jump, but we'll definitely come again to give that a go and do the racing. We done to the ACES team. For anyone who hasn't been before, they're well organised and welcoming and it's fun for the dogs and the kids loved watching it too! Definitely worth popping along to the next one for anyone who hasn't been before! Excellent burgers too - kids loved them!
