I dont think he is saying that was in there as a quote i think he ment you wrote the above statment as a whole implying that good looking terrier's cant work and lack something because they are good looking so in turn are you saying only ugly terrier's can work which we all know is pish

what does that proove ...but this is the way I see it all the lads that parade this type of terrier around the shows if they had the chance of 2 terriers to go over a bitch 1 was very smart and had won lots of shows but wasnt that good a grafter in fact it was a total wanker and terrier 2 was not that smart a terrier but could graft ...I know which terrier would be getting its hole :yes: I could name plenty of lads up here in Scotland that bread for looks infact I could name a few lads that or on this site that I know are breeding from poor working stock ...infact I know one fella thats on THL that is churning out show shite pups and a fair price as well ...

No one is saying that smart terriers cant work but when you are not 100% that you are breeding from they way stock works rather than the way it looks then surely that can only be dentramnetle to working terriers as a whole .

A very high percentage of terriers that are paraded around a ring in the summer are not what you would class as decent workers (probably a higher percentage when it comes to lurchers but thats another story ) infact alot of them would be out and out wankers so dont try and make them out to be anything that they are not most are just show terriers nothing more nothing less and why lads try to make them out to be grafters they are only fooling themselfs

work dose come first in my eyes there is a lot of show ponies about i like my terrier to be pleasing to my eye but if they look good and dont work they wont be with me long and they we not be sold for shows if u no what i mean these are my uncles dog he has spent years to get the dog the way he wants they are middleton breeding but he did not breed them he keeps to the lakeland and i keep to the russell each to the own

It was black and tan and 14 inch at the withins , with cat like feet short in muzzle sizzer bite to its jaw , thick tight shiny coat , tight penduline ears , the person walked a while the terrier followed , they fell upon a hole in the ground , the terrier looked up at the man the man looked down at the terrier to see As it disappeared down the hole he stood awhile to much thumping and bumping out shot a fox followed by the terrier ,

About 20 years back I went to Gary for a terrier, i'd known him about 6 or so years then, "You'll be wanting a worker then Paul", he said. I must have looked puzzled and he added..."Not a film star"..!

 

Gary has always bred two types of dog, though his lookers can produce workers...

thing is bud my point was the working terrier never fell out of the sky its evolved and will go backwards and forwards like it all ways has while there are people who stick to there own and dig , the kc breeds are for the kc worshipers , working terriers , black, bnt , white , red, cross breds them all , lines are only as good as the last litter , terriers are not robots some will work some wont , , there aint know magic formular , , worker to worker your best to your best , and if its make you happy foook the rest , just off to dye me dog now shows coming up
